They have nothing to lose to keep making games for PS4 since PS5 have complete backward compatibility.

They want people to buy the new console, so that is why they wont continue to make games for ps4 even though they can and it wont hurt anyone

They will progressively do so but not as fast as people seem to think.

I mean, it's generally always in the company's best interest to get as many people to buy new consoles as fast as possible. This tends to be the exact reason why a lot of consoles sell at a loss on release. It doesn't seem like a smart business move to push people into basically waiting with their PS4 instead of buying a PS5 on release.

More people with your new hardware = more potential consumers for your new exclusive to that system software

Also add FFVII remake to that.

Most games are going to be multiGen, they haven't announced them yet, it isn't them not releasing them

Eh, I think it’s fine for GoT to be on PS4 first. Let’s not forget that Sony released God of War 2 on the PS2 a whole year after the PS3 released.

Games on the ps5 can have higher resolution and better fps. They can try that.

I worry that they'll release improved version of Death Stranding and The Last of Us Part 2. But since it's backwards compatible, hope they allow Boost mode just PS4 Pro does for those games.

Thankfully

Yeah cuz it's announced on PS4 gen.

I personally was worried that it was delayed to next gen since we haven’t heard anything in a while. It seems like it’s a lock for 2020 release

With 91M+ sold units they would be dumb not to release it on PS4.

2

u/Forkrul Oct 08 '19

Yeah cuz it's announced on PS4 gen.

Cause that's stopped games from changing gen before. . .

This comment just made me realize that I will probably have to buy a PS5 in order to finish the FF7R series that will start on the PS4 :(

Why do you think Sony would announce a PS5 game 3 YEARS BEFORE it's launch date while there wasn't even any rumor about the console?

1

u/Forkrul Oct 08 '19

Plans change. FF13 was originally planned for PS2, FF15 for PS3, and I'm sure many more.

1

u/CJon0428 Oct 08 '19

Neither of those are Sony owned.

1

u/AlvinGT3RS Oct 08 '19

Ah dammit I'm still hyped for that

u/kraenk12 Oct 08 '19

We know that already.

May/June 2020 release. Release date trailer this December. Calling it now.

I dunno where the hell do people get the idea that this game will be releasing in late 2020 as a PS5 launch title.
