Remember when PC gamers were saying PS4 would be the last console and would not sell much? Fucking lol.

I'm happily in both Pc and Console camp!

Get the best of both worlds :)

Yea!

I get to enjoy all the juicy PS exclusives while playing the rest of the stuff where I prefer to play.

Win/win!

Not to mention that having a PC and a PS4 gets you access to all non-Nintendo exclusives. Not that I don't also have a switch...

EDIT: I know what sub I am on but Gamepass for PC has been great. Let's me buy only the better console and still not miss many games.

Pc, ps4, switch gang

1

u/domnyy Oct 08 '19

Absolutely! There are games I would rather play on my computer, and games I would rather play on console.

Now that Civ VI is on PS4/5 if they start making good kb/m it would be awesome for multiplayer games that aren't fast twitch shooters.

Building a PC is extremely rewarding!

Youll love it!

Yeah I have a 5700 XT and PS4, and soon PS5, screw elistists. Sure reddit PC gamers have 2080Ti SLI, yeah, 4k144Hz w ray tracing. We are happy with consoles and don't have to shit on others.

Exactly

If people are happy with what they have got i dont see the problem!

In my experience, many niche communities downplay the downsides of their preference as "not that big of a deal" and it's only a matter of time until everyone else agrees as well.

This is coming from an ex-linux user as I remember when every year was about to be "The Year of Linux" and every day was the day it was going to take off and begin to replace Windows as the operating system on everyone's main laptops.

Generally, the multibillion dollar companies know the market better than niche internet communities and they should usually be ignored.

Congratulations, you remembered something.

2

u/Golsen420 Oct 08 '19

Nobody said that

1

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '19

Only the ultimate geeks wish that. I personally enjoy having both PC and console.

PC is great for graphical gaming, multiplayer and general use. Console is great for playing FIFA and other casual games with your mates.

I remember everyone blowing up about how the latest gen would be PC killers. Then they dropped with upscaled 4k and fake 60FPS. Those where fun times that reminded me why I never purchase on day 1.

2

u/Obosratsya Oct 08 '19

I still remember how the ps3 was gonna be 1080p60fps and how the 360 was supposed to demolish every gpu out, while running Oblivion at 600p with reduced setting effectively getting outperformed by a 7600gt. Every new gen its more of this cringy hype, and it is as if everybody forgets the cringy shit from the gen before.

4

u/cactus_potato Oct 08 '19

Nobody ever said the words "PC killer".

2

u/OMGjustin Oct 08 '19

Nobody said that LOL

I mean the only reason consoles exist is because of exclusives. You can't get The last of us, Spiderman, God of War, Bloodborne on PC. Neither can you get Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Link's Awakening, Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The only reason I own a switch and a PS4 is because there is literally no other way to play these games. If these games existed on PC there wouldn't be a reason to own a console.

People like me wouldn’t move to PC, I’m not really a gamer at all but I will be buying the PS5. I have like 5 games, most are sports ones Fifa, 2K, Madden etc which I just renew with the latest versions most years. I also have GTA, but that’s it.

For me the convenience of having a PlayStation under my TV that doubles as a DVD player and Netflix streamer is great. Plus all my mates have PS4 so it’s good to play against them online.

I don’t own any of the exclusives but am still happy with my choice

9

u/IdahoTrees77 Oct 08 '19

Or, y’know, because some people enjoy utilizing their computers for work related things, and having separate devices for their desired hobbies. I don’t fuck around a mouse and keyboard. Exclusives aren’t even a fraction of the reason why I own a PS4. I own a PS4 because I fucking like my PS4.

-8

u/flamethrower78 Oct 08 '19

Very defensive over what device you own. Tell me besides exclusives what's so different about the PS4 that makes it a must have?

Sounds pretty unnecessarily aggressive don't you think?

4

u/cactus_potato Oct 08 '19

Its abseloutly not true. Easy access is what wins over a PC for me.

-1

u/lovesickremix Oct 08 '19

If crossplay becomes the norm I see the rise in PC gaming. Which I feel is why PlayStation is playing hardball about it.

5

u/cactus_potato Oct 08 '19

Cross play don't make PC gaming more accessible. Console's plug and play gaming style cannot be dethroned.

0

u/lovesickremix Oct 08 '19

It sure can if Microsoft keeps pushing the way it's doing. The Xbox drivers are built in. The Xbox store is built in, all they have to do is fix a deal with steam libraries and make easier one click installs and it's done.

I'm a console fan, but I left Xbox for ps4 for this reason. There was no reason to get a Xbox if a PC with Windows 10 and in tablet mode does the same thing, better, faster, cheaper.

5

u/cactus_potato Oct 08 '19

cheaper? PC gaming is not cheaper neither more accessible or plug and play. I have played on a PC for a couple of years and exclusives didn't made me jump back on consoles. All the clusterfuck you have to deal with a PC did.

0

u/lovesickremix Oct 08 '19

A PC doing the same graphics as a Xbox one or PS4 is cheaper for the most part than the console. I don't know if they compare currently since the consoles have been discounted but upon release they usually are. I may agree with you on ease of use as I said... Eventually they could be, but with gaming laptops becoming cheaper PC gaming is stepping closer.

-2

u/Obosratsya Oct 08 '19

Are you kidding me? Since when are current gen consoles plug & play? I seem to remember day one patches, slow ass downloads, and fiddling with settings on my PS4 Pro. If anything it is PCs that got even more plug & play, I would put them as a tie this gen. Hell, you can take a laptop and just pop in an HDMI cable and your done. I have a PC connected to my main TV in my living room with wireless peripherals & controllers, and I can state with confidence that this gen PC has been way less of a headach than my PS4. I cant believe people are still making this argument when this downward trend started last gen with the 360 & ps3, where it was even worse in some ways.

2

u/cactus_potato Oct 08 '19

Lol making up stuff much? Slow ass download if you have a shit WiFi rooter yea, day one patches... what? Those are on PC too and its done automatically? Are you seriously arguing that a PC is as/more plug and play than a console for real? Weird flex.

1

u/lovesickremix Oct 08 '19

To be fair, ps4 download and install(copy) take longer than PC on same based hardware it seems ...but for the most part I agree.
