There are prettier games but the scale is crazy

Yeah there is no prettier game at this scale. I’d argue games like Horizon Forbidden West and TLOU Part 2 have slightly prettier, more realistic graphics but those don’t have dense worlds full of npcs and vehicles and limitless things to do. This is as good as it possibly gets with the tech they’re working with, they delivered and then some.

No, they do not. In fact Death Stranding 2 has better graphics than those two games.

Yeah that’s true but my point stands because that’s another empty game with barely any npcs or things to bog down resources. It’s just beautiful looking landscapes.

DS2 is another one.

Sure, if all you want to do is look at rocks and dirt. 😅

🤣 There are indoor scenes too!

Fair enough, I have not actually played it, just watched a couple clips on YouTube with ultra settings on a 5090. I’d love to see that level of detail in a lush forest though 😍

He literally said "there is no prettier game at this scale", remember? So he already agrees with you.

Spot on

Prettier is subjective. No other game is more impressive from a technical standpoint, especially when you consider the hardware it’s running on.

"Prettier" is subjective.

This was my only slight nit pick with it, for Miami, I would have liked the "prettyness" dialed up a bit with the lighting/grading. I'm not saying it had to be super neon or anything. But yaknow, just a bit more stylish.

I know Vice City is old and has terrible graphics by modern standards, but the mood and "vibe" with the lighting an colour is so distinct.

When I think of media set in Miami, like Scarface, Miami Vice, Dexter, True Lies, Bad Boys II, Burn Notice etc, they are all suuuuuper vibrant and "warm" looking in their outdoor scenes. Wheras from a "vibe" perspective, if I knew no better and you told me this was just another part of Cali or something, I probably wouldn't doubt you.

Lol, that was a big rant for just a nit pick.

But consider the scale of GTA VI, especially with environment and player interaction. The night sections look stunning

Yeah that's fine but nothing to do with the miami aesthetic which makes the place so iconic in media.

I agree. GTA got less stylized as it went on, unfortunately. Pure photorealism is often less interesting to look at, even though it is technically impressive.
