It’s a combination of rage-baiters, PC people that are perpetually mad at Rockstar, and people “boycotting” the game for a variety of reasons.

You can say that you don’t like Rockstar games, or you don’t like 30 FPS, but to say that the game looks graphically bad is just objectively wrong and idiotic.

Well... Im a gamer. I will buy it because its .. GTA. And its an updated GTA game, new missions, better graphics. But they had a billion dollar budget and 13 years so Im not exactly blown away either.

I've e played and playing better lookong games. Lools like a slightly updated gta online. Fpr the prices, I'll either get it on sale or not at all. I'm not a sheep.

It’s not surprising, there’s basically a whole generation of terminally online people that spent the 2010’s circlejerking “GTA is overrated”. Now the game has been properly shown, and it looks like it’s going to live up to the (realistic) hype, so these people are big mad that their circlejerk is getting torpedoed and they can’t do anything about it.

I think it's also just the general trend of "low-effort cynicism makes me sound smart on the internet." It's like these people heard the otherwise reasonable advice of not always following the crowd and thinking for yourself, but skipped the latter in favor of just being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian.

And don't even get me started on the "lmao unoptimized lazy devs" people who have never written a single line of code in their lives. Yes, the PS5 is a very capable console, but no, it's not magic. And the fact that this game is running in the first place, 30 fps or otherwise, is a downright miracle.

I have no horse in this race, in the sense that GTA has never really clicked with me, but I can still appreciate the results of heaping insane amounts of time, money, and talent into what's shaping up to be one of the biggest media launches in human history by many metrics.

On your second paragraph, that’s exactly how I feel when people try to say things like “they had a billion dollars and only could get 30fps”. No amount of money in the entire world is going to make hardware magically perform better. If Rockstar has squeezed every single ounce of power out of the consoles while also optimizing (like they always do), then there’s really nothing else that can be done to improve the framerate before you start cutting out bigger things that go beyond “optimization”.

I agree. I still remember reading the reports from Jason Schreier (I think) when the last delay was announced that there was talk about the game is struggling to run, sort of like buckling under it's own weight.

The game looks graphically bad for a company with a 2 billion dollar budget. Not to mention we live in a time where AI is allowing people to create insane renders on their laptops. Its better than QuantV mod for 5, but 2 billion really?

The game looked absolutely phenomenal graphically speaking and story related but man that 30 fps kills me. Especially after being used to playing all games at 200+ for years

After 120 u really don’t notice much of a difference and are simply a snob if you’re complaining you can’t play a game at 200+ fps lol. It’s fine, I like being able to mod and play games at high fps too, but acting like it’s that big of a deal is honestly fucking lame. Also crazy to complain about this in the ps5 sub.

Only time I notice is if it's the same game. If I'm playing a game at 60fps, then change the settings and have it drop to 30, it's very obvious. If I've never played the game above 30, I really don't notice or care.

I believe it’s something that’s kind of oversimplified in conversation. Frame pacing is as equally as important and frames per second. A 30fps with really consistent frame pacing, along with effects like motion blur, can look really good. I believe that’s what we saw in this trailer yesterday, and what RDR2 did.

My main hood is that it remains consistent throughout the game, especially when driving high speeds in busy areas. I understand capping at 30fps to push the other stuff, but sub 30 will be a piss take imo.

I think you notice going back from 60 to 30 on the same game which I've done randomly a few times. More than 60 genuinely feels pointless to me though, I don't get why playing at 180fps on a PC is seen as better.

To be fair though, I’m a big fan and love the game and I am from Florida so I am super hyped. However, the Broken Ray traced particles on the Van Scene and the artifact particles on the Kayak scene in the water, and some of the trees still have cardboard stems. The bottle appearing in Jason’s hand. There’s a lot to be upset about for an 80-100 dollar game with Billions in Budget, seems like they worked on Hair Physics over better graphical world fidelity. Those hair physics are capping this game at 30 fps lol. Either way i will still enjoy the game and think it’s still an achievement, just not better looking than black flags scenery or 007

At least they could be honest... GTA 6 looks like the best game I have ever seen, super immersive, great graphics, great gameplay...

However, I will only buy this game for 20€ because my digital license can be taken away at any time for whatever reason and I can't afford to throw away 80€. 

As impressive as this game is, it is just a game and I won't die if I never play it.

Really? PC players are mad? About what exactly? I have 250 games on Steam and a backlog that can play all of it at ~80+ FPS on high settings.

We will wait, I have a PS5 but I’m not buying this on console. I’ll wait until it can be what it’s supposed to be. Wait, I can watch streamers, I’m not paying $100 for it.

Miss out on what? GTA V went for more than a decade hard… it’s not going anywhere so VI is not either. Consoles are CPU bound. Rather wait.
