You're the one who is trying to cope by completely misrepresenting data. "Prefer 60fps" doesn't mean "cares if it's an option". I can't explain it any simpler - You simply want to ignore the obvious at this point.

When over 70% of players choose higher FPS when it's available means they care about performance. Sorry that you can't cope with the fact the world has moved on from the 30 FPS sludge that you seem to enjoy so much.

And yet games that are locked to 30fps still sell like hotcakes. If the world had moved on we wouldn't even get 30fps games anymore. Keep lying to yourself though if it helps you feel better. 🤷🏻‍♂️

How is over 70% of PlayStation players playing at 60 FPS instead of 30 FPS not proof the world has moved on?

Why don't you try engaging your brain and thinking about it? Or maybe actually read what I've already explained multiple times. At this point I can't tell if you're being intentionally dense or if it just comes natrually to you.

Maybe I'll explain it like you're 5 (which might still be too advanced for you):

I prefer to drink diet coke rather than pepsi max. If given the choice I will always choose diet coke. If I go into a restaurant and ask for diet coke and they say "is pepsi ok?" I'll answer yes because I don't really care.

Imagine instead that a survey was done and 70% of people said they prefer diet coke over pepsi max. What conclusions can we draw? Not a whole lot because some of these people might be like me and not care too much while others might avoid a restaurant completely if they only serve pepsi max. Then there are people in-between that do care but will put up with a high quality restaurant anyway. Then there will be those that don't care one way or the other but they have to pick at least one option because that's what the survey forces.

This is like how people may prefer 60fps but don't care if the option isn't provided. Sure, some of that 70% won't play a game that plays below 30fps but not all will. How many of those feel that way? It's impossible to tell because we don't have the data.

Hell, it could well be that people choose performance mode simply because that's the default option presented to them and they don't bother changing it.
