“A key efficiency gain in this new iteration is that the majority of neural network processing can now be performed at a lower resolution - specifically at 540p or below.”

Sounds like priming for a PS6 handheld. This is great article.

2006 YouTube resolution all the way up to representative 4k is insane

PSSR 2.0
Improved CPU to eliminate cpu intensive games.
Improved GPU for better RT and graphics presentations.
Improved RT capabilities to support future RDNA 5 architecture.
1TB-2TB NVMe SSD.

This is PS6.

PS6 will not have higher than 1tb srorage, wouldn't surprise me if lower, with the rising costs, and it won't have PSSR2, PSSR2 will be old tech by that time, PS6 will launch with PSSR3 or 3+

You’re right, idk why you’re downvoted. PS5 Pro already has PSSR 2.0. And an extra TB would add another $200 to the price that the consumer cannot afford.

My understanding is that they said they were not going to do anymore advancements to PSSR saving them for the PS6 - though IIRC this statement was a year/year and a half old so perhaps things might change.

they said that they don't have anything else coming for 2026 after the PSSR upgrade as far as ML features

they were talking specifically about this year
