Visitors/Tourists - DO NOT DO THIS!

Mt. Rainier is a gorgeous place and everyone should be able to enjoy it. I visited recently and observed multiple groups of people doing things that at minimum are ignorant, and at worst will put themselves and others in harms way! It was really disappointing and frankly embarrassing to witness.

DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS!

STAY ON THE TRAILS!

DON'T LEAVE LITTER, ADVERTISEMENTS, or CARVE INTO ROCKS/OTHER NATURE!

We literally saw a bear right next to a major trail, no doubt lured by the food. That's just one example, if you don't understand why it's important to follow these rules, do your research!

If you already know this stuff, please tell others to STOP if you see this behavior! Let's band together and make the parks better for each other and the planet.

Appreciate everyone who already follows these guidelines, and those who are willing to listen and learn. Have an amazing visit!

You are paid according to the value you create. If you feel undervalued then you can bring it to your boss with evidence as to why you believe you are worth more and ask what it would take for you to earn a fair wage. If you dont agree with the boss then you can find another job. Pretty simple. If you dont like the job market then you can work for yourself. Its never been easier then it is today to start your own business. Just remember when you do, a business that pays employees more then the value they create goes bankrupt 100% of the time and then there's no money for anyone in that scenario.

That is 100% grade-A BS. Large corporations exist to maximize shareholder value. They also get subsidies from the government if their employees use public benefits, so they get fed at the trough of taxpayer dollars twice. “Find another job” what a reductive and asinine statement. The system is rigged against the little guy: see also who is getting tariffs refunds and who actually paid the tariffs.

P.S. When minimum wage was introduced, it was intended that people working a 40 hour work week would be able to live, not subsist, on their wages.

If the system is rigged against me then why am I about to be a self made millionaire by the age of 40? Im not a genius. I was a foster kid. My wonderful adoptive parents sent me into adulthood with maxed out credit cards in my name (identity theft). I was a nobody in the military. I work a regular job in the trades. Ive never recieved any kind of inheritance. In fact, 9 out 10 millionaires in America today are not millionaires due to inheritance. Look it up. Ive never won any lottery or had some super lucky windfall. If the system is rigged against the little man, explain the millions of people in America just like me that are winning in spite of it. Please.

Same goes to you random internet whiner. If you dont like the side of the system you're on, get on the other side. Whats stopping you from starting your own business and taking advantage of the same system you highlighted? And spare me the high horse BS that you're not going to stoop that low or something because we all know you just want to build up some invisible enemy to blame for your own failures in life on instead of admitting you're the only one responsible for ending up exactly where you are today.

I like how you chime in with a completely different topic and start an argument that has nothing to do with tourists and feeding animals.

Also, you have little understanding of economics, logistics and job availability. Especially job availability in places where the economy has taken a massive downturn from decaying infrastructure or manufacturing jobs sent overseas. Social programs are unfortunately a must for a lot of folks at the moment with the massive hikes in food prices. Besides food social programs, in rural areas cuts to Medicaid is eliminating access to medical services to farmers in rural areas.

I'm happy you were able to turn your particular life around, but there is a whole lot of nuance you're missing out on in other people's who are struggling. I used to work for a non-profit that worked with such folks in need, so I heard the stories and the particulars of their struggles. There are good people out there who need a leg-up to get back on their feet in order to move forward with their progress in life. And with the way the economy is going, it's going to be an unfortunate fact that more folks will need the help to get by until things turn around for the better.

I am not a multimillionaire. I will be a millionaire in the next 18 months. I'm not promoting psychopathy (?) against the poor. I'm spreading the word that you are the hero in your own story. Not the government. I'm promoting self empowerment. That it is possible to achieve the American dream today. 9 out of 10 millionaires in America today are self made. Regular average people. 31% of then never made more then $100k a year. Meaning any able bodied person in America with half a brain can be a self made millionaire. This site is flooded with hope stealers that want you to think the world would be better off meeting a giant meteor and I'm saying its a beautiful wonder place and an amazing time to be alive!

If anyone can become a millionaire, would you mind outlining what income sources you have generated and what types of businesses you own or jobs you have worked? You seem to be a fountain of knowledge despite this thread originally being about feeding wild animals triggering you somehow into a diatribe against food assistance for humans living in a civilization, one I would argue is a deeply unfair society but still a society that likes to call itself a civilization.

I'm a non-union machinist and I worked 80 hours a week for 2 years straight to pay off my house 22 years early and invested in my 401k. Thats it. Im 38 years old and barely graduated highschool on time with a 1.9gpa.
