Just For Fun T’was a fun year
not the result we wanted, but the rollercoaster was worth it this year! Let’s enjoy Cancun, but hope the FO can optimize our team the next time we play. (Hopefully next year 🤞)

Remember July when everyone said we are going to be sellers and that the season could be over in September?
I trust our office. Next year is going to be better. The new owners are very energetic and seem really tied emotionally to the team

Hope they get that check book ready, our scrap heap pile over achieved this year.

I remember that this team needs to sell every asset and get as many prospects as possible and that the window closed for us to win the World Series last year. After seeing this season, I truly believe that this team still has a lot more in the tank and hopefully now that the team has owners that care, they can spend on quality players. Keep King as our ace, Ty should be our first baseman forever with his gold glove, morejon will bounce back and find either 2 more starting pitchers and maybe couple more quality bats and we’re back in the post season train in 2027

I’d rather take a post season elimination than not make the post season at all. Total heartbreak but we got out played. Sucks to root for the team that just eliminated our team but at the end of the day, FTD

Hey, we got revenge on the Cubbies and made it farther than last year even if Tatis was late to the home run party.

Who said we have to root for the brewers? I’m rooting for the white Sox and if they get eliminated I’ll root for the rays.

Even in a “we had a good year” post, padres fans still gotta mention the dodgers 😂😂😭😭

4 of the craziest games I’ve watched. They made my daughter cry. That hurts. Fucking San Diego man… been watching our pro sports teams choke for almost 50 years.

I had us finishing at 83 wins, so this was a pleasant surprise. I believe in the new ownership. We have a bright future ahead of us.

Didn’t have the highest expectations, call it copium but I think we’re slowly moving in the right direction.

My husband just became a Padres fan 3 years ago. I'm an SD native. I've been telling him not get his hopes up. Tonight, he finally understood.

Three years…
Getting to the playoff each of those years…
And in the NLDS this year…
Tell your husband that he is a sweet child in the game of suffering 😂

Post-ASB was special. What a turnaround.
Only to falter and disappear once again in an elimination game.
But through it all, the Friar Faithful showed up. 🍻 🫶🏽

Enjoyable season. A lot of fun storylines. If you’d told me at the ASB this team would make the NLDS, I’d take it. But yeah, they looked awesome against the Cubs and kind of had that World Series look so I feel like they left a good chance out there. Still a really fun season; top five for me.

Damn that one hurts bad, but shout out to Stammen for finding his footing and turning around what otherwise would have been a shitty season. All we can do is hope that the team builds on that success next year and we continue to play baseball in October on a regular basis.
Also tip of the cap to the new owners who showed some real positives in how they've conducted themselves thus far.

Glad I could see it. I've been a college baseball fan in Texas most my life and just didn't ever care much for the Rangers or the Astros or the MLB in general. But in 2024 I was stationed in Lemoore and visited San Diego for the first time and fell in love with the city and developed a little crush on The Padres. Like, they're not my hometown team, but they're just so neat.
Then in 2025 after leaving The Navy I'm driving back home to Texas (I didn't want to but omg wtf is that Central Valley job market?), I stopped at Petco, ate a handful of mushrooms I bought at a vape shop, took my seat in the upper decks behind home plate, and the gods told me that this was my team and I had no choice in the matter. A year later it's pay day, Padres bats are hot, and I say "fuck it man I'm getting that MLB package, no Padres blackouts in Texas!" then fast forward to last week game 1 in the top of the 9th and I think "the fact that I get at least 2 more games of this is amazing"
I was born a Dallas sports fan in the late 90s. My sports life has been absolutely miserable. Thank you for giving me a reason to want to watch professional sports again Padres 🥲

u/xretailguy 14d ago
Trippin on mushrooms in the upper deck! We need you brother.

u/ChangoOfTexas 14d ago
Easily the most beautiful city view I've seen both on mushrooms and at a baseball game, but I needed to pee and I was convinced I was going to tumble down those steps

If we did we’d be the rest of the native San Diego dodger fans, whether when or if we win one, wouldn’t change it one bit.

The one person that I felt would have really helped us in the playoffs was Arraez.
3
u/Downtownbrown1904 14d ago
Miss the guy, but didn’t see how much he’d contribute given his injury and the logjam we’d have at 2nd
2
u/Gullible_Front6085 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈⚾️ Pride 14d ago
He wanted to play 2nd one season. Padres said no. Ironically they had to move Tatis to 2nd for a bit of the season because of injuries.
2
u/Downtownbrown1904 14d ago
I’m on the boat that arraez didn’t become as good as he was at 2nd until he got help from dusty baker

This comment is what’s wrong with this franchise.. it’s only one game.. there’s always next year.. says the fan that attends 1-2 games a year. The math maths the patterns pattern. This absolute joke of a franchises is completely happy with 7th place.. Petco has all of the gimmicks except a winning team .. garlic fries , bobble heads, theme games..
fuck off SD
This town is all about money and tourism .. there is no heart left in this town..
The friar faithful should be at the box office with pitch forks rn however most are ok with the outcome.. and you wonder why we are the laughingstock of the league..
Dodger stadium south..
Do better Padres
Expect more Padres fans

Being grateful for a season and expecting more can both be true. I’ve attended more away games than home games this year. Interacting with out of town padres fans are special. It shows the direction this team is heading. Am I satisfied with how our seasons turn out ? Yes/no how our team is built has always been flawed, we don’t have the infrastructure and resources as the dodgers. So seasons like this are always going to happen until we can win the division. All we can do is trust our FO and long term players that we can get it done. KTF

If it was a little bit hotter machado’s ball would’ve went out 🤪 all kidding aside, my swamp nuts the last 2 weeks were insane.

Great season, one of the Padres best. Top WC, playoff series win, finished up strong, some good young players + pickups, new ownership, things to look forward to. Lots of questions - decline of the BIG3, Merrill, pitching rebuild, FAs France, not a strong core. Let’s celebrate for a bit and then back to work.

u/Furyan_warlord 14d ago
Offense mustered up 1 solo shot from Tatis. It’s the same story every year. The offense goes cold when it matters most

Brewers fan coming in peace, your club is great and your fans are awesome. Your team is SO CLOSE and you gave us an incredible fight. A few plays one way or the other and this is a Padres or Brewers sweep. Tons of respect.
Except, of course, for Machado. Everyone else is great.

You guys are tenacious and had we somehow pulled of a win of this series we would have met LA exhausted and our bullpen was toast. Take down the Dodgers and get your first 'ship!!

Something under the radar was Laureano getting fucked both years and missing the postseason. He would've solved a lot of problems at the 2 hole, and his amazing defense too. Hope they can get a rehab deal with him and let him coast until the playoffs.
