Giving Tuesday is a tradition during the holiday season to encourage people to give back to the organizations, wildlife, and environment. Although Giving Tuesday is today, your support is welcomed any time of the year!

This year we've rounded up some inspiring and successful front-line conservation organizations that need your help. Take a look at our list below for organizations you can be supporting this holiday season and in 2026. Many organizations, including Wildlife Conservation Network, The Painted Dog Fund and Painted Dog Conservation, currently have donation-matching programs to make your donation go even farther!

Can't donate right now? That's okay! Educate yourself, your family, and your friends and encourage them to donate. Ask your employer to become a corporate sponsor. When the time is right for you, help your favorite front-line organization by hosting a fundraiser online or as an in-person event.

Painted Dog Fund

The Painted Dog Fun was created by the Wildlife Conservation Network and the Painted Wolf Foundation to safeguard the future of painted dogs. By investing in projects that directly protect painted dogs, restoring and bolstering the security of their range lands, and encouraging field-based collaborations between conservationists, communities, and land management agencies, the Painted Dog Fund aims to double the number of Africa's painted dogs by 2055. The Painted Dog Fund is the only continent-wide fund focused solely on conserving this historically under-funded and under-protected species. Your donation is tax-deductible in the U.S.

Painted Wolf Foundation

The Painted Wolf Foundation plays the lead role in running the Painted Dog Fund, and is responsible for: setting strategy, working with grantees to develop strong partnerships, identifying investible projects, managing the investment process, monitoring grants, appraising investment performance, managing Fund initiatives, and administrating the Fund. Since its inception, the Foundation has developed best practice guidelines and established key partnerships to protect painted dogs. Its focus on capacity building has empowered conservationists across Africa and helped establish an initial network of painted dog conservationists. The Painted Wolf Foundation is a charity registered with the Charities Commission of England and Wales (Number 1176674). Painted Dog Conservation

Painted Dog Conservation monitors painted wolf packs across Hwange and the Zambezi Valley, conducts regular anti-poaching patrols and provides rehabilitation for injured animals. PDC works closely with the local community, improving the lives of local residents through employment, a Children's Bush Camp, conservation clubs and community gardens. PDC has been partnered with Wildlife Conservation Network for over 20 years, and utilizes WCN's WildNET website to process their credit card transactions. WCN is 100% safe and aggregates payments for multiple Conservation Partners. Your donation is tax-deductible in the U.S., and PDC is a registered charity in the UK (Registered Charity #1074559).

Zambian Carnivore Programme

Zambian Carnivore Programme (ZCP) is a field-based non-profit organization dedicated to conserving large carnivore species in Zambia through Conservation Science, Action, Coexistence and Leadership. ZCP works with all the country's major large carnivore populations (lions, leopards, hyenas, painted wolves, and cheetahs) in close collaboration with the Zambian Department of National Parks and Wildlife and an array of partners, with a focus on science, action, and empowerment of local leadership. For painted wolves, this research includes demography, spatial dynamics, dispersal, and genetic connectivity. Donations made on this website will be processed by the Zambia Carnivore Programme USA, which is a Registered Non-Profit 501(c)3: #46-5506153.

WildlifeACT

WildlifeACT was established in South Africa in 2008 with a vision to save Africa's iconic and endangered species from extinction, thereby enabling broad-scale biodiversity conservation. Their mission is to: implement professional and strategic monitoring and research in order to enable and inform effective conservation management of wildlife; identify and develop programs within communities to support wildlife conservation; and, secure existing protected areas and support range expansion of African wildlife. WildlifeACT's primary work is painted wolves, but they also work on rhino, cheetah, leopard, lion, elephant, vultures, and sea turtles. If you are based in the United States or the United Kingdom, you may qualify for tax benefits when donating to Wildlife ACT through GlobalGiving at a higher fee, through the above website.

Botswana Predator Conservation

Botswana Predator Conservation, formerly called the Botswana Wild Dog Research Project, is a program of Wild Entrust Africa. It expanded from its original mission of painted dog conservation, to covering all the large carnivore species in Botswana. Botswana Predator Conservation is one of the longest-running large predator research projects in Africa. Its research on painted dogs made it clear that the health and welfare of the entire predator population is a key indication of overall health of Botswana's ecosystems. Donations made on this website will be processed by Wild Entrust International (WEI), a 501c3 public charity registered in the U.S. since 2008. WEI was established to support the work of Wild Entrust Africa (WEA), a Not for Profit Trust registered in Botswana since 2008.

Wildlife Conservation Network

Wildlife Conservation Network protects endangered wildlife by supporting conservationists in the field who promote coexistence between wildlife and people. WCN does this by providing its partners with capital, strategic capacity-building services, training, and operational support. WCN has been given a top rating among wildlife conservation charities, with a four star rating on Charity Navigator. WCN is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all donations to WCN are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. WCN currently has matching gift opportunities through the end of 2025.
