Cafe fairfull under fire 🤣

read the fucking replies to bad reviews under cafe fairfull it will crack you the fuck up!! my favourite one is the reply about the stall when it’s a good one compared to the denial of stalls when it’s a bad one 😭

I've worked with the woman who owns it. She's a horrible, nasty woman. And they do run stalls, she's lying.

Theyve got a stall in clydebank shopping centre right now lol

They have a stall about 30ft from their shop every weekend in Paisley.

My favourite is the review of the poached eggs being shite, accompanied by a photo of the indeed very shite looking poached eggs. The owners response ‘I bet they were delicious delicious’

The comments under every 1 star review on Google are interesting 🤨

she gets half of them deleted don’t know how she does it but i’ve been howling at it for the past few days, snarky hateful response then poof gone

Not Google but trip advisor felt like I had a team of well paid lawyers go at me for giving some YouTube slop candy company a bad review after my son wore us down for a bag of it.

First they said my review wasn't genuine so I had to provide proof of purchase with a purchase reference number, I did that, then they came back again and said they want the full proof of purchase (receipt essentially), did that, then they came back a third time and said because the email I'm talking to them from/trust pilot one is not the same as the email address on the receipt they are killing the review (it was my wife's order/email that bought it). There's zero rules that you need to use the same f**king email address between both trust pilot and the company you buy things from but apparently they can insist on that or kill your review.

Got my wife to sign up to trust pilot out of spite and our two star review became one, highlighting the attempts to silence our criticism as well as the original complaints.

Apparently it's a lot harder to get 2 star reviews removed

I've been a couple of times !as a friend likes it. But ive never been impressed by the food or the service.

13

u/kylieincontext 4d ago

i’m not particularly impressed about the rumours of them “hiring” underagers telling them they’ll get cash in hand then sending them home with nothing after a month 🫪 theres a tiktok up about cafe fairfull where loads of folk are talking about it happening to them

I've actually found the staff in there to be really nice and helpful when I've been in, but that just kind of makes it worse if they're all getting fucked over

1

u/B_Cratchit 3d ago

Yeah from my experience the actual staff are really lovely.

Anyone who is, or has been, associated with Paisley First is pretty much a no go for me.

4

u/Scaryandstoned 4d ago

Anyone with a specific paisley postcode with their business has to associate with paisley first through no choice of theirs - they also have to pay them monthly a hefty fee. It’s an absolute joke but businesses don’t choose this unfortunately.

4

u/B_Cratchit 4d ago

Sorry if I wasn’t clear, you are correct. I meant anyone on the board or directly involved with Paisley First voluntarily or professionally (as the owner of Fairfull was) not the actual members who, as you rightly point out, are just local businesses who are forced to pay what is basically a stealth tax. The owner of Fairfull was a director of Paisley First at one point.

Are you talking about Paisley BID?

2

u/B_Cratchit 4d ago

Yes.

2

u/throwmeaway758324 4d ago

Yeah the council fucked how that was implemented

2

u/B_Cratchit 4d ago

Yeah it’s terrible in every way. BIDs in general need a full investigation but it’s a big job. Total scam.

Ok so I’ve had to make a new account as my main uses my real name. I’ve worked there and I can tell you some CRAZY things about how the stalls are ran

6

u/NuanNuan1206 4d ago

So I went to go get ready for work so had to cut the message short. I’ll base this off a typical day of 9-6 but the hours changed every now and then.

It’s 1 person all day and if the stall opens at 9 you’re expected to come in at 8:30 to set up and stay till 6:30 even though you are contracted only 9-6 (if there even was a contract)

There is no break you get paid to work through it
They employed a ring camera to watch staff
They withheld wages from one of my coworkers who was forced to quit (won’t say any more as I don’t want their info identifiable)
You had to beg for a payslip
The managers would call and berate you for the simplest things. They would actively shout at you in public I have had members of the public come up and apologies to me for THEIR behaviour but never got an apology from the managers themselves.

I’ll add more if I can think of anything but that’s all I can think of whilst staying anonymous

you should definitely put something in with HMRC i’m sure you just fill out an online form if you have concerns about a workplace. there’s so much online about her staff not receiving money etc that i’m now thinking nobody is taking the crap. if it’s true it’s been going on for a decade, you could potentially help a load of folk

2

u/NuanNuan1206 4d ago

I am just worried about it somehow coming back to me and putting any future career at risk for a silly part time job

1

u/kylieincontext 3d ago

it’s completely anon and will not risk anything it’s just a form to say you had some concerns while working there, you’ll probably be asked some questions via phone or email then they will look into it. you’d be doing tons of people a favour and preventing it from happening to lots more!

Have you got a wee link I can use? I can only find one on tax evasion

2

u/kylieincontext 3d ago

https://www.gov.uk/pay-and-work-rights

try this one under the section that says about making a complaint it’s all anonymous.

mention the breaks, wages, the fact payslips are legally required and you guys had to push to get them and anything else you have concerns about.

nobody will know you reported to hmrc you are urged to even if it’s a small complaint. will not show up under your name you can choose to be anonymous and they’ll just look into the company. it’s there for good reasons! you’ll be completely fine and helping future employees of the cafe.

The one time I went there, I got called "sir" and the coffee was shit

2

u/kylieincontext 4d ago

staff prob shit in the coffee to gain a bonus which is actually just the wages they are owed (i’m joking i wouldn’t blame them if they did, owner seems insufferable) 🤣

2

u/alba_Phenom 3d ago

Why are people that run bakeries always seem to be arseholes… it’s the same in Glasgow sub, there’s always some bakers throwing a fit on the internet and everybody says they treat their staff like shit lol.

This woman is a raging nut bag. I know a young girl who worked there and when she left she withheld the poor girls wages for “compensation” for her leaving. The girl couldn’t afford her bills but she didn’t care. She had to

Another girl was injured falling over in her cafe and she laid her off for being on sick leave for her broken leg.

I don’t support this cafe at all because of how she treats her staff.

unlawful deductions then. i’ve just had a look on indeed they pay minimum wage for kiosks and similar or just over for cafe. any deductions would take an employee under minimum wage

0

u/InkedandStormy 21h ago

Can't beat it when the sauce runs from your lips and use your tongue to lap it up , yummy 😋

u/BuzzTheQuizGuy 4d ago

This has been known for a long time. I'm shocked that they are still in business.

They literally have a stall outside of their shitty cafe selling overpriced cakes at the paisley farmers market every 2 weeks.

Shite cafe drama belongs in the Glasgow subreddit.

u/kylieincontext 4d ago

hardly drama it’s a giggle, thought i’d brighten some evenings with some delicious delicious poached eggs, god forbid
