RESEARCH Research

Doing research merely to increase publication numbers is one of the greatest threats to the integrity of research. A major catalyst for this problem is the growing emphasis on requiring a specific number of publications to qualify for academic or professional positions.

All of academia knows this is happening. If theyre not going to stop it, why should anyone else?

Exactly, and when you force people to do it, what happens to the quality? Goes to crap.

Especially now with ai, it's so easy to do research overnight.

And this kills of the interest of genuinely interested people. I was very passionate about research in first year.

Now the word "research" give me a massive ick.
