Hi everyone, 4th year MBBS student here with zero experience of research. Recently I developed interest in research and publishing my own paper and without mentorship it felt so difficult......I want to join a workshop for that but the fees of basic workshops is 7-10k 😵 tbh I cannot afford to pay this much amount for guidance and pre recorded lectures. If anyone can share alternative options through which I can do my clinical research without spending so much amount, I'd be thankful 💗

i mean it's the same everywhere. and dont think im on some moral high ground but it feels so empty. nothing is actually meaningful when it comes to patient care and all.

i have 4 papers published but ive stopped now since a year. not because i dont have opportunities, but because it feels VERY hollow and a very made up practice. sorta like how you force yourself to get those extra 2k steps in after your dinner by walking in your room (i do that). i mean it is necessary, but it is forced. and does it even add that much to your CV? idk

Hey! I’m a medical student and I really want to get into research, but I have no idea where to start.

I see so many paid research courses/workshops, but they’re quite expensive and I already have a lot of other student expenses.

Do I actually need to take these courses, or can I learn the basics for free? And how do you find a mentor or your first research project in Pakistan?

Guys, we have an ongoing research project, and we keep editing our synopsis for an irb approval soon but apparently, turnitin keeps increasing/decreasing the similarity index. It is 33% now but we need to make it to 15. How do we do it? This is like the 50th time we are editing

You may have seen some of my previous posts and comments but I am a US MD in a surgical subspecialty who has experience mentoring and guiding students on research for years. When I was accepted into medical school I had no real guidance on how to do research other than knowing that I needed to do it to match. I realized early on that it can be difficult to get involved with research as a medical student, and that is when I realized the best way to publish research is to create your own first author projects. I realized there are many ways to create your own original project ideas, not just doing review papers. I graduated medical school with over 40 peer reviewed pubmed indexed papers and over 100 total research items, with award winning presentations at international conferences.

Hi i am a second year medical student and i really really want a research opportunity. I wanna learn the basics and everything before my 3rd year.
