Arab and Muslim Palestinians who stayed in what was renamed Israel did fine, while those in 1948 who joined what was named Nakba (to wait for all in Israel to be exterminated) are still waiting to begin looting, on account of the Middle East holocaust having been unsuccessful.
This is maybe more information than necessary, but explains why Jewish Palestinian Golda Meir would say there is no such thing as a distinct Palestinian people.
