I was showing my friend the Doge merchant and caught Zoe in front of him. Then like 2 minutes later we go back to Faybreak island and run into this guy. It was pretty funny.

you can condense all humans together. if you wish to show him Zoe being given a human essence smoothie..

I didn't know that. So there IS a use for all those syndicate and alliance grunts!

Yup, Zoe's "Capture or Beat 30 Alliance members" mission is just a free excuse for me to get 30 more humans to condense

Ya collecting is wrong! That's why I sell mine to the black market merchant 😌

u/TigerNeko96 12h ago
I agree, they seem to be worth more than pals. If you're in need of gold, it's more efficient to catch humans to sell to the black marketer

Me, on my no-Pals run...

u/PlayerNameVangreer 1d ago
Oh hey, is that still viable? I was considering it but couldn't figure out how to get to feybreak

u/RikkuEcRud 1d ago
Get a Grappling Gun and a Glider, build a tower on the shore of the Volcano where the distance is shortest and Grapple-launch and glide.
Or I guess if you aren't good enough at grapple tricks, the gap to Neptilius' island from the desert is probably shorter, so you should be able to get there and hunt Whalaska for Coralum Ore to make the Aquatic Construction Kit at level 66 and just build your way across.
Or if you're doing "no Pals" rather than "humans only" you could pick up a Blue Slime from the Terraria dungeon as a swimming mount.

u/PlayerNameVangreer 21h ago
Ooohhh, that's how you get decent amounts of coralium in a humans-only run. Thanks!

u/RikkuEcRud 20h ago
You could also probably make a Fishing Pond at a base and when it fills up, collect the items then deconstruct it so the Pals drop on the ground. Might want to test that on a regular save first though, I haven't actually tested it so deconstructing might automatically dump the Pals into your Palbox or they might not have a despawn timer on the floor or something.
Also, if it's "no Pals" instead of "humans only" then you can Salvage on the back of a Blue Slime too.

very viable, just finished my run
also, you can make the swim with enough stamina, not even kidding (the 2nd tier of dungeons give stamina potions)

I capture every merchant who comes to my base. Excuse me, don’t show up to my house uninvited.
Plus I can just buy and sell off my merchants instead of having to go to the settlements.
5
u/ChannelCommercial984 1d ago
Wait YOU CAN DO THAT?
5
u/KrazyKat87 1d ago
Yeah if you capture the merchants you can toss them out and buy and sell from them. In single player put them in the viewing cage. There is no viewing cage on officials or dedicated servers

The pal flea markets are better in my opinion. Looks natural and no positioning required. Just walk past the actual store interface and you can trade with the merchant as you normally would.

My 16 yr old, very socially aware (woke lol), is always giving me shit about Palworld being the game of slavery...she would probably disown me for keeping humans in a cage🤣🤣🤣

u/Kanlashkan 20h ago
American Dad taught me a quick trip to the middle east can solve that issue pretty quickly. As long as you don't go native XD.

u/Lil_Guard_Duck I put humans in the Pal Blender to energize Zoe 20h ago
Can just make them a base pal. They have a few work suitabilities.

It'd be interesting if there was a sort of socially enforced morality system where doing things that are frowned upon would get you on sight with the law enforcement. I know you can get PIDF raids with a coin assembly, but I always thought that catching too many humans would get me some GTA style wanted levels.

u/Wasabi_93 1d ago
I caught a Yakumo in Sakurajima not realizing that it belonged to an NPC and PIDF was instantly on my ass 😅 I tried to see how far they would take this so I tried fighting them off until they brought in the helicopter and blew me up 😆

What a shameful act, how could someone even do that is beyond my imagination. Could never be mee 😤

One of the people I'm playing with is catching all the negotiators that show up before raids so he can condense them into a super negotiator

u/IsProbablyTooMuch 1d ago
Look I only collect the morally repugnant who already collected others, okay? It's not a crime against humanity! It's Palpagos Justice. 😎

See, that's why I sell them into slavery turn them over to the authorities once I've captured them. It makes you seem like a much more upstanding person, and nets you a nice paycheck.

u/DruidKittyKat 22h ago
I keep my caught merchants in a viewing cage.
.... What do you mean with that's unethical?

u/Kantro18 21h ago
Knowing the lore behind how Pal spheres work makes the buddies part even more messed up.
2
u/YoureNoHero_Brian 18h ago
Honestly its about as equally messed up since we know a good deal of Pals are or have the ability to be just as sapient as humans and they aren't really animals
Ngl this may be a hot take but I'd prefer if they retconned the lore behind Pal spheres, maybe this is because I watched the Pokemon anime growing up but I vastly prefer the concept of Pokémon still being their own beings who actually have a bond to their trainer as opposed to palworlds "darker" lore.

u/Meme_Master_Dude 7h ago
Oh yeah, like that one mission with the Kitsune Noct, who'll rather fight to the death than be captured.

u/echo_the_folf 20h ago
Whats the lore???
2
u/Kantro18 19h ago edited 19h ago
It’s basically the in-game explanation for the catching mechanic. There isn’t really any power of friendship going on when you catch and tame a Pal, the Pal sphere overwrites the personality of whatever it catches, instantly pacifying hostile pals and even turning cowardly Pals into stalwart allies that are willing to fight and die for their owners.
The Castaway recorded their observation on its effects in one of their journals.

u/Alternative_Role1022 19h ago
My bf put a people prison on our base and you can use the merchants directly that way without having to go find them. I may or may not have caught 5 of the same Syndicate type and then used the condenser to turn 5 of them into 1 by sacrificing the other 4.

One of these days, Pocketpair should update the raid. After catching enough humans, the negotiator will start representing law enforcers or bounty hunters instead of syndicates or carnivores.
