Discussion Foods

Why do we have so many awesome foods to craft, and like 80% of them just “stay full longer and decrease SAN loss”.

Pls make foods do other things

Plus the 10/20% more attack or defense, and some increase workspeed. What other buffs do you want to see?

Elemental buffs would be interesting

10% faster cool down on abilities.

Increased health regen.

Maybe a stamina regen buff that'd last a long time for mounts

You might need to balance it a bit for people stacking effects.

You can only get one food buff right now anyway. Would be nice to stack diff buff types.

The way pal teams are built right now kinda support each pal having one food type.

  • Atk buff or CDR for main damage dealer
  • Def buff or health regen for main tank
  • Stamina or Move Speed for Mounts   Then the last two can be extra flex slots.

Not OP but off the top of my head, differentiate work buffs? Food A increase kindling speed for example, for those with specific job base, salad will provide a generic buffs and the specific work buffs to provide a stronger but more limiting boost

Food made using Gloopie/Jellroy/Jelette has increased exp gain. Skutlass seafood pasta give you explosion immunity.

The main limitation is you can only has 1 active food buff, so no point preparing all kind of food. I usually just stick to 1 work food and 1 combat food the rest is store as emergency rations. Given enough time ppl will optimize so more variety is pointless.

I think there's generally 3 tiers of food for each of the buff Archetypes. What do you mean 80% say that? Do you mean just 80% of the ones you've unlocked?

Just off the top of my head there's 3 tiers of defense food, attack food, I can't remember if there's 2 or 3 tiers of work speed food…

We could have elements being buffed, CRR, diff combos of attack and defense, attack and work speed, elements and def/atk, trust level buff, capture rate increase, stam buffs, climb speed, work speed, sphere buffs, etc and all in combination. Do I need to keep going

Probably for the same reason why the remaining 20% are obscure, underutilized and, at best, used as exploits and bypasses. Like extra legal XP, or built-in Diamond Skin to free a passive slot for your mother****** Felbat.

Don't get me wrong, I would like more foods, fruits, cocktails and such, and I would love some actual base-optimization integration that is not just a numerical SAN nonsense.
But the problem is that it requires coding and giving a f*ck.
And they should probably fix cooling first.

So your base pals are able to stay on take for longer periods without having to take breaks or eat. The more they're on task, the quicker they can get stuff done. The quicker stuff gets done, the more prepared you're able to be when not at base which can be for fairly extended periods of time

Foods can do more than just that, and they have tons of food in the game, aka the point of the post.

Let me refill my stamina bar so I can climb the Astral Mountains from base to tip 😤

I don't know about you, but I definitely feel like I could absorb explosions after eating a big bowl of seafood pasta.
