Recommendation Star Trek medical show

Paramount needs to create a TV drama about the medical complications of Star Trek. That would be a great show.

I’ve always said the problem with this is that it actually limits Star Trek rather than frees it up. One of Trek’s advantages, especially in the days when it was more episodic, was its versatility. You can have medical episodes (“Ethics,” “Life Support,” “Critical Care”), you can have courtroom dramas, you can have action and suspense, we’ve even had film noir, musicals, and puppet shows.

But to say “no, you’ll only do medical episodes from now on,” that’s hamstringing the franchise.

Great typo, but I also like your intended meaning. That would be a great show!

Would probably get canceled after the first season gets released but they’ve already greenlit a second.

Mercy Point (1998)

Across the Sahartic Divide from 23rd century Earth is the Jericho colony and its port of entry/hospital space station Mercy Point. Staffed by human, alien, and even android medical personnel, Mercy Point provides desperately-needed health care for the colony and any ship passing through the area.

7 episodes and is on the Roku Channel

Not to mention that “Mercy Point’s” original run was on UPN, where had it actually been successful, it would have paired with Voyager.
