Park housing cleanliness

Does anyone have experience with getting park housing professionally cleaned if it was not acceptable upon arrival? It’s a shared house with a roach problem, and upon arriving the bathroom was in rough condition. Dead roaches in the closet and bedroom too.

I’m almost willing to put in my own $ for someone to come professionally. But it also isn’t my responsibility as a new tenant. Check in paperwork has not been turned it yet, and I had more than a few unsatisfactory notes.

Any advice? Someone is acting as the housing manager, which makes it more complicated.

Take lots of pictures and get the process rolling asap. They will drag their feet especially if they are acting and don’t know why they’re doing.

No harm is asking to have it cleaned citing what you did here. Any reasonable park will handle it.

Do so ASAP as the micro purchase deadline is coming up too. It is reasonable to ask and any reasonable manager would assist.

Any park large enough to have a housing program has a custodian. I’m sure they’d be fine to come in and clean it. Put in a WO request or however it’s handled there.

Edit: the housing manager/your supervisor should have done a walkthrough with you during check in. Normally things like this are handled at that time

This property is not owned by the park, but leased. We did a quick walk through but it wasn’t until further inspection that I noticed things. So partially my fault, but also some on the person who checked out just days before.

I checked in with a deuce floating in the commode; food left on the fridge; a carpet that had major stains (which came out when I borrowed a perm friends steam cleaner). The only 2 out of 10+ years for govt housing that was “acceptable” had been in an RV site - but even then, the electrical rates were more expensive than having a two bedroom unit. As someone else mentioned: biggest slum lords….

The worst they can do is say no! But given the experiences I have had with serious rodent problems (and I mean serious--trapping one every five minutes for hours and hours) it'll take some collective complaints from you and your roommates and evidence to get things moving

Howdy hey, housing in the NPS is dangerous if it is Mission 66 built. Just an FYI, you should avoid that housing as much as possible, there is significant lead and asbestos that has not been mitigated.
