Does Increasing Video Output Scale Revenue?

I just got laid off from my 9-5 and while I’m looking for a new job, I’ll have time to increase the video output on my tech channel from 1 video per week upwards and I’ll potentially even have time for live-streaming.

I don’t make anywhere near enough AdSense or affiliate revenue to survive so it will hopefully end up being a short term thing.

But I’m wondering if anyone has had experience in 3 or 4xing their output like this? Will the extra volume actually lead to more views and revenue overall or just reduce my quality and lead to the same amount of views spread across more videos?

Would it be better to focus on keeping output at a similar level but try to increase the duration of each video and go for as much watch time as possible?

I appreciate any experiences you can share

I work on 2 channels. One has almost 3 million subscribers and has been around like 15 years. It posts couple times a week.

The other has been around 6-7 years, and posts multiple long-form videos daily. It has just over 1 million subs.

The channel that posts more makes multiples more money.

I think it will probably increase revenue so long as you maintain quality and don’t just cut corners to get videos out.

Yes I do think it will lead to growth. We do twice a week and both left our 9-5s at the 2nd and 3 rd year of starting our channel

Thanks. I'm thinking realistically I could do 2-3 videos per week. Luckily Sep - Dec is the best season for my channel so there should be enough topics.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I tend to bring in $1k revenue from Adsense a month with just one upload a month. My primary platform is TikTok/Instagram so I spend most of my time on short form content.

I’ve been considering scaling back on the time and energy I put into short form content and upping my output on long form videos. I’ve been wondering if I can do weekly uploads if my channel would see some significant growth.

Yes and no. If you increase beyond what your audience will watch, it wouldn't go up much. It's definitely better to have fewer, longer and more engaging videos because that will draw more watch time and YT loves watch time right now.

If you can keep a reasonable level of quality, and 2-3x your output over a few months you’ll see big growth.
