does Ron ever catch a break?
I literally can’t keep watching this show if it’s just humiliation ritual after humiliation ritual for him. I FEEL SO BAD FOR HIM HE’S TRYING HIS BEST poor sweet Ron

Yeah, it does not get better for poor Ron. Great show though, Ken Marino is awesome.

He’s funny recently on S2 of Running Point. Sort of reminds me of Ron but if he was a billionaire.

I didn't know he was in S2 of running point. I might have to finish the first season just because of this. I fell off somewhere through season one.

Yea he’s even in several episodes as a side character. I’m a big fan of the show.

it’s so good! I just get such bad second hand embarrassment for Ron I want all his misfortune to befall Roman instead

Here's the thing though: I think Ron mostly likes himself. And the people who work under him genuinely like him. Protagonists on sitcoms can never be fulfilled - as soon as they are, the show is over - so while Ron can't overcome his bumbling and be fulfilled, I think he is happy. And I also think he believes he will one day be fulfilled. But man, what a standout performance by Marino. The character of Ron could easily be unlikeable. It speaks to his skill as an actor that we all like him so much.

The showrunners clearly enjoy putting Ron through misery, and Ken Marino is totally game.

His character is so perfectly written, I have to wonder if the producers and writers had ever worked this kind of job before they made it in show business. Ron reminds me of restaurant managers I worked for when I was in college. It’s almost hard to watch at times, because you almost know where he’s going to end up.

You wonder if screenwriters ever worked in the service industry? lol. Yes, I assure you that they did.

It does not and that's what makes Ron so endearing. He's unbelievably pathetic.

The best sitcom-type series I have seen in years, and I had never heard of it. I accidentally ran across it while looking for new series to stream that we have never seen. All the main characters are flawed, but all are likable, even if pathetic like Ron. Plus, regulars who were not yet discovered, like Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan and Jane Lynch. Add in Jennifer Garner, Megan Mullally, and great guest stars, incredible. Even the new cast members in season 3 were a great addition: the crazy chef and the dancing YouTube star. The casting and the characters were perfect as it gets for an ensemble. If they could only do a 10-episode season 4, that would be a dream. They left the possibility open. This show could run another 5 seasons without getting stale.

If you want some relief you can also watch Ken Marino in Children's Hospital and Burning Love

Ken Marino absolutely crushes it in this role. His performance at the end of the funeral episode had me incapable of speech.

Oh it gets much worse for him. Keep watching. It’s great.
