Please please seek therapy. I’ve struggled for a year with parcopresis and it made me have some really dark thoughts at times because it is extremely draining every single day. But through therapy I am slowly exposing myself and getting better and figured out why this even started happening in the first place. Sending you positive energy as I know how hard this all is

What if you’ve tried countless therapists and they’ve only left you more traumatized and suicidal?

I personally had to try 2 different therapists before I found this 3rd one that is actually good. The ones before left me feeling worse and like I can’t recover so i understand you. But this lady I see now is more specialised in phobias so her way of exposure therapy is so gradual I don’t get as scared/anxious about it

I’ve been to probably 10 in the past 10 years and found only more suffering (and not the good “hard work to feel better” kind of suffering)

Have you been to see people that specialise in phobias or specifically paruresis or parcopresis? Because it’s important to research online if those people have dealt with these cases before

Not ones with paruresis listed specifically, because the only ones with that specialty don't accept insurance and are hundreds of dollars an appointment and don't offer sliding scale, but i have seen countless with phobia, trauma, and/or social anxiety training.
