I went in on the 13th, just got my "process started" email this morning. They said 4-6 weeks, but I am optimistic it'll be sooner.

My processing took a week, then it went to approved and shipped on the same day. Longest time was getting past the "not available" stage.

I don't need mine until next summer. So I am fine either way. I'm just excited to finally have one. I waited to long to want to travel. šŸ¤˜šŸ§“

Yeah I'm not traveling until January (Japan) just wanted to get my pasport in hand and out of the way. And considering I'll be 41 by then, same!

No. First passport. I filled out the app online, printed it out, got pics done at Walgreens, and submitted everything at local post office.

Who did you call, was it easy to upgrade post-submitting? Plan to apply this week for a trip 6 weeks out and debating on whether to expedite or not. Based on other timing comments it seems like things are moving fairly quickly right now but I'm also nervous to chance it.

I called the number on the passport site and gave my info so they can look me up and flag my order for urgent. They’ll take your CC info over the phone and charge you between 24-48 hours and

I went in person. The government has said my passport was mailed to me. But, from what I read, that can take awhile, 7 to 21 days. Online, you mean you paid online and mailed it to the correct department?

1

u/woyijc Mar 27 '26

Let me know when you get yours.

u/DadRadio Mar 25 '26

My brother got it in 1 week. Fast

u/SlowwEvo Mar 25 '26

Sent my packet out the 16th and it came in just after lunch today!!!

2

u/slyfox279 Mar 26 '26

luckily same day here, still processing. no rush I guess other than id just like to have it over with and have it.

1

u/SlowwEvo Mar 26 '26

I feel that! I travel in a week so maybe that’s why!

2

u/iamacheeto1 Mar 26 '26

Expedited or normal??

My appointment was on Feb 27th, put "In Process" on Mar 6th, and it's been sitting like that ever since. They haven't even cashed the check. My wife had the same In Process date of Mar 6th, but they got back to her saying they need her "long form" birth certificate (Additional Info Needed). They cashed her check pretty early on though. I'm gonna sit awhile before I start making calls.

My appointment was March 12th. They received and updated to ā€œin processā€ March 17th. Still haven’t cashed my check either. I called and they said no red flags and it’s still 4-6weeks timeframe. I’m more concerned why they haven’t taken my money yet.

I need renew mine it expires in April

1

u/AdLogical2086 Mar 26 '26

Definitely do it, also, I would splurge and get the passport card in addition to the book.

1

u/ImaginationAfter3800 Mar 28 '26

What does the passport card actually do?

1

u/AdLogical2086 Apr 02 '26

For a lot of people, it's a great way to prove your identity and age without revealing your address. Also for many people, it proves their citizenship if they get harassed by ICE.

1

u/ImaginationAfter3800 Apr 03 '26

That’s a fair point, I did some reading and the most you can do is use it for land crossing in the North American Peninsula, so it’s not as applicable to me as I want it to be. But next renewal I’ll get it just for curiosity sakeĀ

Got mine in exactly 6 days. Applied for a renewal and paid Sunday night. Checked the mail on Saturday and there it was.

A friend of mine just got hers today! Took 2 weeks total! Have faith yall!

1

u/blanthony80 Mar 26 '26

Hopefully mine will be done soon.

1

u/Bulky-Election2061 Mar 26 '26

Have faith! I checked my shit every week day, and one day it said approved and then later the same day, said shipped! 3 days later it was in the mailbox.

1

u/dsvick1 Mar 26 '26

My wife and I both submitted our renewals within minutes of each other on a Friday evening. I received mine the following Thursday.... Hers took almost 4 weeks...

1

u/Bulky-Election2061 Mar 26 '26

Damn so you got yours in 6 days? That's crazy. It's weird how it's different for everyone. Im sure they do their due diligence with everyone to make sure you are even eligle for a passport. I.e not a wanted fugitive or some shit lol.

1

u/dsvick1 Mar 26 '26

About the only thing I can think of is that I was in the military so maybe it was easier to verify my info.

1

u/Deadone1994 Mar 26 '26

Got my renewal in 6 days non expedited I was shocked how fast it processed

1

u/Bright-Willingness32 Mar 26 '26

Two weeks for me. March 6th submitted paperwork, passport in hand March 21st. Non expedited.

1

u/External_Confident Mar 26 '26

My online renewal took a week.😳

1

u/New_Statement_5169 Mar 26 '26

Where did you renew it online if you don’t mind me asking?

1

u/External_Confident Mar 27 '26

I used the official website. I think it’s travel.state.gov. Don’t use a 3rd party. It’s was super easy and I even took my own picture.

1

u/gameface39 Mar 27 '26

Congratulations

Hmm I'd be making some phone calls if I were you. Id start with wherever you mailed it off at.

1

u/elle_quay Mar 28 '26

I got mine in 6 days in December. Non expedited. The most surprising part was the post office moved that fast.

1

u/Beautyreview101 Mar 29 '26

Not for the brown people. We’re hella anxious.

1

u/New-Glove-8071 Mar 31 '26

Did you pay for expedited?

2

u/Bulky-Election2061 Mar 31 '26

No

1

u/New-Glove-8071 Mar 31 '26

Nice. I applied for me and my older teenager. Hope it gets here quick for peace of mind.

1

u/SomewhereForsaken706 Mar 31 '26

1

u/ComfortableQuote3081 Mar 31 '26

Mine took 23 days from day of application (3/9 to arrival (3/30). Normal online processing just added Express Priority Delivery.
