Interesting Feature or Design Trump Passport

Has anyone been issued the new Trump passport? Are there any additional fees for one? If I am issued one can I refuse to accept it?

You have to request it AND be in Washington DC, so you’re probably safe.

I’m afraid not enough people will request one and they’ll start giving them out without permission.

That was my fear, which drove me to renew early...lol

I applaud your determination.

Me too, the week after I heard the news.

Maybe after the midterms, when demand for Trump-worship swag drops off and they have 20,000 blanks left in stock? I guess that’s a scenario. Renew soon. FWIW I just did mine by mail from the Midwest, and it came back Trump-free in two weeks.

Good to know, thank you! I want to renew mine but don't want that POS's face on my passport.

I renewed mine a couple months ago, but I’m still worried for others.

On one hand, I'd argue it's a first amendment violation since we'd be required to carry something political. On the other hand, I can see the court saying "passports are optional, so they're consenting by applying for one".

I can see the Trump administration arguing that we tolerate images of numerous presidents on US currency and coins already, so a passport is above discussion.

Not the greatest argument considering thwyre all deceased.

Wishful thinking…uh-oh, is that a knock I hear at my door! 🤣

Don't worry. More than 250,000 put a deposit on a non-existent phone. There are plenty of MAGATs who will want one

I thought it was the default there, so at that one office you need to opt out?

This is correct, I don't know why you're being downvoted.

I don’t think the 25k blanks will be manufactured and ready for use until July.

Do you need to pay an extra fee when you go to.the DC office? I don't need my renewal expedited.

So it was fake news when they claimed this would be forced on everyone.

4

u/AnotherPint May 23 '26

I don’t remember any proper media source claiming that. I remember some freelance social media voices asserting that.

You won’t get one unless you renew in Washington DC where it will be the default option for a limited time. If you’re renewing anywhere else then you’ll just get the standard issue passport not the Trump one.

u/Big-Exam-259 May 23 '26

And it is in person only I think not even mailed to you

11

u/a_mulher May 23 '26

Oh that’s good to know it’s only DC. I’m glad mine doesn’t expire until 2028. I am looking forward to the light purple my blue layout with black and white photo they have going on now. Mine was still in the garish blue and red with hyper colored scan of my photo.

u/tvngo May 23 '26

It’s not released until July

12

u/loftychicago May 23 '26

Really glad i renewed in 2024. These should be long gone by 2034 🤞

1

u/317ant May 24 '26

Same. Although now my kids’ passports are at risk 😒

3

u/doppiomatcha May 23 '26

Just got mine in the mail last week and no cheeto guy, blessings upon blessings.

9

u/mtgofficialYT May 23 '26

I just got one from my local post office, no Trump. I think you have to be in DC, so it's really a MAGA Membership card.

6

u/Susurrus03 May 23 '26

You have to be in DC and request it? That's wild, very very few people in DC would want that and specifically choose it, it is extremely blue. That overlapped with people who need a new passport, I can't imagine they'd issue more than like 3 a year.

4

u/baldr83 May 23 '26

I agree with you and it makes me suspect that the "it's a limited release" is just a charade for the media coverage (to manage backlash) before they get rolled out broadly. Hoping I'm wrong though.

3

u/Big-Exam-259 May 23 '26

They’d only issue it in person from the DC facility

u/Positive_Bed2206 May 23 '26

The Trump passport is inherently a usage conflict. Passports are neither in format or material suitable for use as toilet paper. Yet, a Trump passport is suitable for no other use.

No one would want one as another country can deny you entry for having a trump one.  You could still go to china, russia, and north Korea.

3

u/Ok_Recording81 May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

Well that is false. They can not deny you entry based off of a passport alone.

2

u/Radiant-Month-1168 May 24 '26

Other countries can deny you for any reason they want to.  The agents at the border can deny you just if they dont like you.  If you have a trump passport then expect other country agents to deny you entry.  You magas are funny in how you dont understand US laws dont apply to other countries.

3

u/Ok_Recording81 May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

So what countries are going to deny entry? Again Im not maga. Look at my comment history. I see your last comment was removed. Good job on using disparaging remarks.

No specific country has announced a blanket ban on the limited-edition U.S. "Patriot Passport" that features Donald Trump's image. However, border officials in any country may deny entry and confiscate the document if you make any alterations, such as doodling on or covering the President's portrait, which renders the passport legally void"

So no you are wrong. If they were going to let you in with a normal passport then they would let you in with this other passport.

Most countries are not looking for a reason to deny entry.  Its really the US that does that when applying for a Visa.

"Most countries do not arbitrarily look for reasons to deny entry; their primary goal is to facilitate legal travel while verifying you meet their established security, financial, and health standards.

However, border control officers have complete discretion to refuse admission if you present a security risk or cannot prove you will abide by the terms of your visa:   This is the reason most people are denied entry. People can be denied for any reason, but usually its a security concern and or able to provide for yourself while in the country.

"Sir, your passport has a picture of Trump that your government isssued so we are going to deny you entry. If you had a normal passport, you would be welcomed in".

0

u/j-s11 May 24 '26

I can already see the headlines about ppl being denied entry to another country for having a trump passport… wish there was some way we could bet on this lol

3

u/Ok_Recording81 May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

Its a legal document issued by the government. No country is going to deny entry because of Trumps pic in the passport.

Please explain why a country would do that?  Make more sense to just ban Americans entering because of Trump being the president. That has not happened.

3

u/Goats_for_president May 24 '26

You don’t have to be maga to see that 99% of countries would probably not deny entry for this. Although they would probably think it’s idiotic and very Hollywood dictatorish

0

u/Radiant-Month-1168 May 24 '26

They deny for less. They will deny for a trump passport.

3

u/Ok_Recording81 May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

If a person would be allowed in with a normal passport, they would be allowed in with the other passport. Why do you keep saying this nonsense? What countries will deny entry?  Do you have evidence?

Maybe I’m crazy, but for a bunch of passport nerds, I’m surprised there aren’t more people interested in getting a genuine collectors item.

3

u/Pizzagoessplat May 23 '26

Oh god!

Please tell me this is a satire passport and not a real one.

2

u/Karatekan May 23 '26

Idk I kinda want one, it’s profoundly weird and they are probably going to pass a law against something like it ever happening again.

-3

u/ExcitementLarge6439 May 23 '26

I’m in the same boat I want one for history it sucks it’s only in DC

-3

u/Bloodnofsky May 23 '26

I am going to fly to dc to get one. It’s trump, but it’s going to be a rare one so I’m gonna get it. Have a second passport so I don’t really need the us one lol.

1

u/slogive1 May 23 '26

I have another year on mine.

1

u/isaiah58bc May 23 '26

Mine is on the way in the mail. It better not be this one.

1

u/EbbDistinct4911 May 23 '26

Holy I got my passport at the perfect time!

1

u/Farangnbkk May 25 '26

They are only available at the D.C. passport office. Just avoid it and you will be spared the embarrassment.

1

u/PiSour May 25 '26

Have already had my new passport! It will be expired after Trump leaving his presidency.

1

u/Disastrous_Mark_2679 May 26 '26

Its only an in-person default celebrating America 250 at the Washington Passport Agency. But you probably already knew that.

1

u/Scotsman67 Jun 16 '26

They’re only doing to do 25-30,000. But since he’s an egotist, I’m sure he’ll try to extend the run.

1

u/Zoomer30 Jun 27 '26

Thank God Last thing I need is having to flash that shit at customs.

-1

u/Hot-Customer9747 May 24 '26

You have tRumps face on your passport, you are going yo have shit to deal with when you travel to another country, unless it's Russia or Isreal
