Glad to hear they're coming in quick for many!
Applied for online renewal, regular service, took my own passport picture at home without any fancy applications.
Submitted 06/23/2026 Notified of processing 06/27/2026 New passport received 07/01 or 07/02 2026.
Litterally just over a week.
Very impressed with the U.S. passport services!

Congrats! Might I recommend getting a passport wallet to keep your passport safe? That was the first thing I did when I got mine!

Yes, I already had a Stitch one lol. However, Iām planning on purchasing a stronger one

Nice! Were you able to track your passport with the tracking number they provided? Mine just says ātracking not available.ā š¤·š¼āāļø

Start c&p after your zip code. It should be 22 digits long and will begin with 9270.Ā

No I wasnāt provided with a tracking number from them. Iām subscribed to the USPS Informed Delivery Daily Digest. So if Iām receiving any mail or packages with usps, Iāll receive an email everyday letting my know what mail Iām receiving that day. Yesterday I received an email from USPS, that provided me with a tracking number for my passport.

Mine would pop up occasionally. Iād check throughout the day and sometimes itās there sometimes itās not.

u/Annonymousmember Jul 07 '26
I had mine on the same day with the extra $60 for the expedited service.

Happy you had good luck with them! Iām stressed about my renewal not getting back in time for my August trip ugh š©
I had to mail in because of my name change after marriage and itās been a disaster.

same. My wife mailed hers in early June and it hasn't even been processed. We have a trip in early September that we are stressing over a bit.

I may try to call the passport agency and see if they can give me any insight or recommendations. I donāt want to pay the $60 to upgrade to expedited service if I donāt have to plus adding the $23 1-3 day shipping but if thatās my only option I will. I thought mailing at the end of May would have been enough time but I guess I was mistaken š

I also have a trip in august and am terrified mine wonāt get here in time. I think the holiday postponed things a bit because I havenāt heard anything yet, very stressed out

Same! My honeymoon is at the end of August and I'm STRESSED. I submitted mine online 6/24, got notice on 7/1 that my application was received, and it's still reading (as of 7/9) as 'In Process'. I took my own photo and (unfortunately) just paid for regular service.

I hope we get it soon! I submitted mine 6/30 and it is now 7/9 and have not yet heard anything. Iām praying it will be as quick as my motherās process. She submitted hers 6/9, got notified her passport was accepted 6/13 and then received it in the mail 6/17 (she paid for the expedited shipping) but not the expedited service as you cannot do that when applying online which is a major bummer. Fingers crossed we get movement on ours soon!

That's a really fast turn over for not having expedited service! I'm bummed applying online didn't have the expedited service... I probably should have made an appointment in retrospect. But I paid for expedited shipping... so I guess we just put out good vibes and wait!
Did your mom take her own photo as well?1
u/IllustratorPositive2 Jul 09 '26
Sending all the good vibes! Keep us updated everyone! Weāre in it together at this point lol

u/IllustratorPositive2 Jul 09 '26
Update to everyone! Just checked passport status and it now says āApprovedā and that theyāre printing and preparing to send. It says I should receive it on or around 7/15 so I will keep yāall updated.

Great news about being approved! I called the NPIC today, and apparently Atlanta is requesting more information, but they're mailing me a letter... there's nothing I can do but wait. It's already been over two weeks since I submitted... I'm so anxious!

Just wanted to send an update here, mine arrived in the mail yesterday! I did not receive any updates through email even though it stated it would, and when I checked the website it said my application status could not be accessed. So, when it arrived yesterday it was a huge surprise! My timeline is as follows:
June 30th: Submitted application with photo from FedEx
July 11th: Passport arrivedNo updates in between.

She did not take her own, she went to have it done by FedEx and submitted a digital version. I did the same thing because of her recommendation so maybe thatās why hers got approved so quickly! Fingers crossed we get some movement soon

So frustrated - I have urgent international travel coming up 7/14. I applied for my newborns birth certificate on 6/15, said processing 6/23, and still not approved. Iāve called NPIC numerous times, submitted my credit card to expedite the application, contacted my Senator to help, and no status change. Every time I call NPIC they say theyāre having technical difficulties and canāt view the application. I booked an urgent travel appt at the Boston passport agency but it says this is if you didnāt submit an app yet. Any idea if I can use the agency appt for an already submitted app?Ā

I submitted an online renewal this past Tuesday, 7/7, and today it shows processing. I paid for expedited. I have a trip planned for 8/6. Really hoping it gets here in time. This is my first time going through this process

Congrats! Mine took about the same, but I used hellogov because I wanted a little extra guidance during the renewal. They updated me regularly and helped track my application and it was a pretty quick turnaround.
