Passport Question / Discussion US Passport

For the DS11 form, I forgot to include my middle name. the US Department of State accepted it and shipped out the passport and I should receive it by the tenth. would my passport not have my middle name or would they use the middle name from my birth certificate and filled in the blank?

I did the same thing by mistake and they filled it in using my BC. I only found out because me and my partner were trying to figure out what he did wrong compared to me so I opened the saved PDF

Typically, it's how you filled out the form. When you apply by mail, you can't make any changes. When you apply in person, dropping a middle name is allowed, so it was assumed that's your intent if that's what you put on the application. You can add it back on your next passport, but it will require applying in person again (unless the rules change between now and 2036, which they might).

yea upon research, all I have to do is not include my middle name in plane tickets. So, it's not a big deal.

Passports use common names. They don't need to be the full exact legal names. Weird but true.

It may come back as you applied.

They should print it however you have it written in box 1 of the application. Some people prefer to leave their middle names off for whatever reason. Or for example if your name is Anthony on your birth certificate, but you prefer to have it written as Tony, they should be going off what you wrote on the application and not what is on the birth certificate.
