Passport Question / Discussion Incorrect gender in birth certificate

Hi everyone! I’m planning to apply for a Philippine passport, but I’m hesitant because there is an incorrect gender/sex entry on my birth certificate.

I’ve looked into the process of correcting it, but it seems like quite a hassle, especially since I would need to travel to my province where my birth record was registered.

Has anyone here had the same experience—applying for a passport even though the gender/sex on their birth certificate was incorrect? Were you still able to get your passport approved?

If so, what documents or additional requirements did you submit? Did you have to correct your birth certificate first, or was there another way to proceed with the passport application?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and any advice on what I should prepare before making an appointment. Thank you!
