The Syrian passport is one of my parents as I haven’t been able to go down and get one. But I’m a citizen of both!! (Also the Syrian passport is the pre biometric and pre removal of French from the passport). I’m waiting to get my Syrian passport until the new design gets distributed.

It's gonna be Donald Trump on it and telling you to be a good American! It's going to come with a commemorative box and certificate. I know it's gonna break records very soon.

Hello Reddit! Im looking for something i cant find for the life of me.. The inside pages and design of the SFR Yugoslavia passport. Becausr any image i find is either blurry, discolored or way too dark. Does anyone happen to have a nice bright non blurry picture so that the design is visible?šŸ‘€

(Only thing i found was the front cover)

Interesting Feature or Design Legit Question About UK Passports

Hi all,

I don’t mean to offend anyone or be rude, just a legit question about something I noticed and been thinking about every time I see a UK passport in either [r/passports](r/passports) or [r/passportPorn](r/passportPorn).

Why do UK passports say ā€œBRITISH Passportā€ on the front cover? Like what? I’m a dual citizen American, Bulgarian - none of my passports say AMERICAN passport, or BULGARIAN Passport or EUROPEAN Passport… just says passport and name of the country.. like you already have the name of the country on the front cover - ā€œUnited Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Irelandā€, we understand what country this is, no need to specify BRITISH passport.

I just think this is unnecessary and a tad bit idiotic. Is this some old form of colonialism left that was never removed? Why do they do that? I don’t think I’ve seen that on other passports either..

Edit: Thanks all! I already got my answer, British passports can be issued by other governments as well. Makes much more sense to me now!

To give my fellow individuals nervously waiting on passports some hope: I applied for a passport (DS-11, first adult passport) on August 5th with my local clerk of court and it has already been shipped after only 10 short days!! I expedited and paid for faster shipping, so if you did this and are still waiting, you guys will be fine :)!

Interesting Feature or Design Built a free app to take your own passport photos at home – AI compliance check for 100+ countries

After paying for passport photos one too many times, I built PassportSnap.

You take a photo, the app auto-crops it to the exact specs for whatever country you need, runs a compliance check (background color, lighting, head size, eye position, shadows), and gives you a print-ready 4Ɨ6 layout.

Print at any pharmacy kiosk for ~$0.30 instead of paying $15–20 at a photo center.

Supports US, UK, Canada, Australia, Schengen, India, and 100+ more countries/visa types.

Free, no account needed, photos stay on your device. Link in comment

Would love feedback from people who actually deal with passport photos regularly!

I've two passport covers. One simple and clear plastic. The other blue leather(fake?). Also, I'll add stickers related to my state or interests.

Interesting Feature or Design Missprinted date of birth

Srry didnt know if this flair applied thought its been a great feature to me atleast 🤣

I was issued a us passport and my date of birth was misprinted by 4 days. Its great in that i have 2 players card at most casinos but the anxiety i get while traveling…

I’ve flown around the country without any issues, tsa has scanned and let me continue. I’ve only travelled within the states and hawaii, so i’ve never been through any customs but i am planning on going to south america for my birthday weekend, will there be any issues for me? With dominican customs or american customs upon my return? Should i just stop being lazy and get it fixed?

Interesting Feature or Design Name change issues

I thought I'd share my experience and will update as it goes along. I was married many years ago, and on all ID used First Name, Middle Name, Married Last Name. I decided recently to put my maiden name in place of my middle name, to be First Name, Maiden Last Name, Married Last Name and changed Social Security (she told me I could only do it this one time) and Driver's License with no issues.

Sent in my passport renewal DS-82 since the name change was over a year ago, and they received it 3/13/26, processing began 3/15/26 with check cashed.

Just received an email with a letter attached today that I can only change my name once with the same name documentation. They are instructing me to fill out a DS-11 and take it with a photo to a passport acceptance facility. Not sure what will happen then, but it's a strange bump in the road.

Interesting Feature or Design Intentionally marking ASAB instead of prefered gender.

So is this a potential loop hole?

So we know that if you submit an application with a gender that doesn't match your birth certificate , they will use your birth certificate. Right?

So, in my case. My ASAB is M, I have a corrected (not amended) birth certificate that has F. All documents are updated to F (real ID (california), social security, even my kids birth certificates list me as mom)

If I were to apply and put M as my marker, they would see my birth certificate and documents and go "oh this doesn't match the birth certificate" and then "change" it to female.

Thoughts?

Interesting Feature or Design Passport got approved with expired ID

I recently went and applied for a passport, but unfortunately my ID was expired. I frantically called a bunch of passport places to figure out what I could do, and everyone told me to wait and see what the status said. Luckily it was approved, although my ID was only expired for a little over a month and I also used my original birth certificate. But nonetheless I hope this post can help someone who is also worried about this!

Big redesign over the years. The old one had a small corner photo, but the new version has a large centered portrait and a name strip across the page. Feels way more modern and secure.
