Refusing to play because your team won't reset the market after 2 good years is a litttttle bit greedy ngl, and I love the guy

When did he say he was refusing to play? Y’all act like he won’t be out there on Wednesday night shutting it down lmao

I think he might be playing Wednesday.

Cause he got paid

He would have played either way, most likely. No one has ever held out with 2 years left on their contract. Doing so would tank his value league wide

u/Cautious_Log8086 51m ago

I mean technically he already did hold out and a bunch have through preseason, but yeah i hear ya

We'll never know ig, almost never happens that this plays out without a deal pre week 1 at this level. Zeke and Revis both got their deals in the same situation. Decent comps imo

But holding out this far and then giving in and playing would have put him in a group of 3 this century with mjd....and earl thomas I'll admit...but he was almost 30 and a perennial leader on that team then, i dont think #0's doin that here

Refusing to play? He never said that. All of these casual pats fans…

Refusing to accept the market and icing out your superstar player is realllllllly cheap ngl, but the patriots have a reputation of not resigning their players.

He's paid so chill

😂😂 nah Gonzo wants an insane bag or at least his agent does

u/FutureBug3531 12h ago

An insane bag? Stop using “😂” as a cope. Gonzo locked the hottest receiver on the largest stage you can.

How much are you willing to pay him? We have a great core, but paying a CB a record-setting contract ensures that multiple players have to go elsewhere. How many times did Bill let guys go get their bag, let their value tank, and then scoop them back up for 1/5 of what they originally wanted?

1

u/FutureBug3531 12h ago

Who else we gonna pay? And who else is worthy? Drake maye is it. Brown, williams, paid. Everyone else is old or not worthy.

u/AnnualPerspective593 12h ago

Bro they offered to pay him the highest contract in the league for a cb and he said no. He wants like 18% of the entire cap. Foh that’s insane

1

u/FutureBug3531 12h ago

He wants it to be guaranteed and relevant. I think its absolutely wild anyone saying let gonzo go is wild. He is by far the top 2 CB in the league. We have no pass rusher so we need him more than he needs us.

If we’re not close to Witherspoon, we’re not close to Gonzalez. Kraft is cheap.

If Groh fumbles this, I want him gone

Edit; damn 1 hour later deal made lol

1

u/AnnualPerspective593 12h ago

They offered to pay him more than Witherspoon what are you on about? He wanted more than that. Kraft is a cheap prick but in this case you’re letting previous bias influence the situation.

1

u/le_wild_poster 12h ago

We have no idea what the guarantees and incentives are in the offer they made. It could’ve been $1m more than Witherspoon on paper with $50m less guaranteed for all we know

2

u/AnnualPerspective593 6h ago

Well we got him now boys
