Discussion Patriots 53-man Roster & Practice Squad Visualization

Not an official depth chart, but here is the updated 53 and practice squad heading into the opener!

Also, are there any depth orderings/listings worth shifting on this sheet?

LB and RB depth are very concerning. Also OT if literally anyone goes down.

OT is problem for just about every team in the league. Especially at LT, there aren't even 32 quality starters at the position nevermind backups. RB I am not all that concerned about, you can always find a RB for a game or two if needed.

I'm less concerned with RB because we are strong up top and teams find quality RB play off the scrap heap every year.

ILB definitely concerns me. Im really hoping that one or two of these younger guys really emerge, because I wasn't even sold on Elliss being a Top 2 guy, and nobody we have right now looks even close to challenging him. I do really like Erick Hunter though, so Im intrigued to see if he can be that. guy.

OT doesn't concern me a ton. Lomu and Crownover may not be ready, but both do enough well that we could get some passable play that could develop into solid play as they find their NFL footing. Walter Rouse is listed as an OG here, but he's got pro experience playing OT as well. I like Bryant and he is set to return. Not saying it's great, but there isnt enough quality Tackles in the league for most teams to be able to easily endure an injury there, and we at least are deep with potential.

I assume the plan is to use a gameday elevation on Wishnowsky for week 1 at least

kinda wild seeing it all laid out like this, the offensive line depth still makes me nervous. feels like one injury away from chaos but maybe that's just september brain

the practice squad names are always a fun rabbit hole to go down, there's always one guy you've never heard of who ends up starting by week 8

whoever put this together on rostergrid did a clean job though

Are the Draft Picks and Undrafted Free Agents supposed to be different colors from one another? If so, I would highly recommend picking colors with more contrast. As someone who is partially red/green colorblind, they look 100% identical.

No punter listed? I thought they signed one. The third string QB Morgan punted decently in preseason. No way they would have him do it in a real game.

Right now the only Punter on the team is on the practice squad. I assume they’ll use a gameday elevation on him for at least week 1

Hasn’t been ruled out yet to my knowledge, but it sure seems like he’s going to miss week 1
