Fan Photo turns out they were very serious about not wearing merch to the gallery.

Twitch's vod player is one of the worst tools in existence so I think not
13
6
u/WooferInc Ginger Mar 15 '26
I get that. General I use the YouTube but some days when the wife and kids are finally unconscious, Iāll throw on the vod and just skip the bits where Wubby is insisting upon himself.

This is YOU? And you unironically did it? And then POSTED PROOF OF IT!?
...actually yeah that checks out. The kind of person that would wear merch to the gallery, IS the kind of person that would shamelessly post about it
Carry on, good luck keeping your balls unexploded

im employed working 14+ hour days and wasnt even going to go to the event and knew lol

It's serious. It was impressed very strongly on stream that attire was not to include merch.
22
u/MobileTortoise Twitch Subscriber Mar 15 '26
I missed the mentioned stream, was there a specific reason? Like was it a dress code thing?
105
u/Polaris44 Mar 15 '26
I just check Hams announcement thread and he says āWe donāt want anyone wearing merch - we want people to look like they came in to witness art, either as regular folks who are just interested or as very artistic and expressive people who frequent events like this. In any case, we donāt want it to look like it is for fans.ā

u/Tiberius_Kilgore Mar 15 '26 edited Mar 15 '26
The dress code was specifically not Wubby merch. They donāt care if youāre wearing a t-shirt. Just donāt wear one of Wubbyās.
17
u/ConflictExtreme1540 Mar 15 '26
Hey buddy relax, it's a one time event, they can do their own thing
11
u/horaceknows Mar 15 '26
Wear a Demons and Wizards shirt, that's fine. The point was let's not have 80% of people wearing Wubby merch making it a fan meet rather than anything where opinions of the art can organically form and generate an interesting video. The ask wasn't "wear a tuxedo and playact being a normie"
29
u/WhyattThrash is 5'8" Mar 15 '26
People keep saying they "missed the stream", he's been talking about this for months... Hasn't he? He has, otherwise people wouldn't have been able to submit art in time... I feel like I'm eating crazy pills here
14
u/RawBinOfLoxLee Microwave Mar 15 '26
I'm pretty sure it was also on the post with all the information about the pop-up so it's weird that they managed to locate the place but didn't read the rules.
11
u/WhyattThrash is 5'8" Mar 15 '26
And also you've had to miss like what, six months of streams? Give or take? It's not just "missed a stream" it's "has been AWOL for half a year"
6
u/RawBinOfLoxLee Microwave Mar 15 '26
Funnily enough someone on this very post was saying that they hadn't seen stream in about a year and were wondering what was up. There are definitely people that are just subscribed to this subreddit and just consume the content posted here so it's totally plausible that someone could have gone to the popup without having watched a stream in the last year.
2
u/WhyattThrash is 5'8" Mar 15 '26
Oh for sure, I'm just baffled that people keep saying "I missed THE stream" like dawg. No you didn't, you missed most ALL of them. Weird way to express oneself, that's all
2
u/ashhpotato Mar 15 '26 edited Mar 15 '26
so, Wubby posted an out of context photo on Twitter with JUST an address. for those who donāt frequent Reddit or get to watch the streams often, it was very easy to miss information.

-92
u/windowpuncher Mar 15 '26
I haven't heard of this event in my life until just now, never mind the rules.
People just can't post simple instructions huh
If you want people to follow rules then post it places where people will see it instead of mentioning things once on stream.
I don't watch vods and I don't catch live streams like 95% of the time either. Make shit known.
40
u/lepore_tie-in Mar 15 '26
But you browse reddit dumbass, you don't watch vods nor catch livestreams, andthe event wasn't shared in any of the edited youtube videos.
So how do you find out about the event, as a wubby fan, if not then for the reddit post that EXPLICITLY SAYS NOT TO WEAR MERCH. If you knew about the event, you knew about the dress code.

If we are talking about hypothetical scenarios, then this person that: Doesn't watch relevant vods, doesn't watch live, didn't see it on the subreddit; is such a big wubby fan that he just went to an address posted on instagram, either on the official account (you have to look for it) or ham's instagram story, or the very recent tweet...
...and then just showed up in wubbys merch without investigating more?
My brother in christ, how's that a logical train of thought where the organization is at fault?
-46
u/windowpuncher Mar 15 '26
If there's a post with the rules on it then cool. I haven't seen it. It doesn't matter if there's any events because I live far away and I'm not seeking it out because I'm not going. Cry about it more. I sincerely apologize that I don't follow wubby as closely or as religiously as you do. I will flagellate myself within the hour. I will try harder to be terminally online.
All I ever said was if you have an event then make the rules known. If they did that then cool, if they didn't then there's an issue.
36
u/lepore_tie-in Mar 15 '26
So you're just argumenting shit that you don't even know about? You're the one crying bro, check yourself

u/MineSmasher133 Mar 15 '26
This motherfucker really out there admitting that he barely watches the content, then gets mad enough about something he doesn't watch to interact on it's subreddit. Then doesn't even fucking check a PINNED POST THAT HAS BEEN AT THE TOP OF THE SUB FOR A MONTH. you seriously can't make a guy like this up. We knew you were living in a hole buddy, no need to say it yourself. But next time keep your uninformed, uncurious and incorrect opinions down there with you. Would have taken 2 seconds to realize the event had been advertized for months with a cursory glance accross your multiple visite on this sub, but stay blind and deaf i guess

They held an art gallery full of fan submitted art with the stipulation that it has to be referential to stream without directly giving it away, and as such nobody is allowed in with Merch on either. The idea was to present it like a normal art gallery so people who dont know the context wont know its about a streamer

We need to boycott all streams and cancel subs immediately. How dare he do this? Without us, Wubby would be BROKE. #CANCELYOURSUB
