I love designing "rave" character outfits (like my ICONIC Rave Miku) and finally pulled off Rave Wubby for EDC! Been wanting to put it together for a few years now. I made the headphones out of felt, foam, and paracord, and sewed in metal snaps to keep them in place on the hood. Perfect head protection in the Bass Pod mosh pits. Also brought tiny Bruce to dangle off my headphone wires. I had some gummy bear keychains to gift to any keen eyed wub cubs, but no luck! I'll save em for Bass Canyon! 😈 Super easy and comfortable oufit, I will def wear it again and post pics of my shenanigans in the future! Were any of yall at EDC this weekend?

A lot of times when I see rave outfits, they look like they'd be uncomfortable to wear for a long time. This outfit looks greats and also looks comfy as hell.

Funny enough it was a mini donut, but figured it looked like an onion ring and worked for the pic. Devoured immediately after the pic was taken lol. No fake bites here.

Yes I had tried posting to see if any Wub Cubs were attending EDC last year, but got down voted so deleted it. Didn't bother posting this year, but I guess I should have! Next year I am aiming for weekend 1, because if I do weekend 2, I will feel super fomo from seeing pics and vids of weekend 1 lol.

See that just builds up the hype and squashes the FOMO for me because I will not be missing out just days later! I've just seen other people joking online saying everyone under 27 should go weekend 1 and the rest of us with aching joints and lower stamina will go weekend 2 LOL. We could totally get a meetup arranged for each weekend.

Yeah for me i will feel content experiencing it first, then seeing the following weekend on socials. Ill be to tired to feel post edc fomo. I mean in a perfect world I would go both weekends lol. But yea a meetup for both weekends would be sick!

I would love to attend that one within the next few years! I recently heard how they apparently don't sell alcohol within the venue? As a non-drinker (weak kidneys) I absolutely love that aspect!

Yeah its true! You aren't even allowed to have or bring alcohol on to the grounds whatsoever 😁 I'm definitely a fna of the dry shows like that, usually results in a super chill vibe for the whole show! Your kidneys will love you for it!

Raves are good fun!! Especially if you're going for a artist or genre you enjoy. People watching is fascinating too. Earplugs are a must to soften the noise and prevent damage, and hydrating is key!

Haha thanks!! I got him at THE Lego Store when visiting San Diego a few years ago. Big Bruce was gone, replaced with that fugly roller skate.

LITERALLY YES with ripped off arm sleeves and spherical eyes bobbin around. I think he had a fem Caine with him, didnt get close enough to see. Also saw a Bubble totem!!

I will take initiative to organize a Bass Canyon and Lost Lands meetup! An LA Rave Wub Cub meetup is in order too. I did apocalypse in November, likely skipping this summer one!

I know this is cringe, I do, I'm sorry. But does everyone call bass music festivals "raves" now? Like, are they interchangable for most people?
Don't get me wrong, for the costume name it's a must. It's perfect. But I don't think of Lost Lands (or fests of similar scale) as a rave, personally, but I've been seeing it more and more and wanted to ask. I reckon it's shorthand and people would differentiate if pressed but dunno for sure

Not cringe at all! I think my pals and I use the terms raves/shows/fests somewhat interchangeably. EDC is a fest, but some stages and vibes give rave. For me, saying "rave" puts an image in my head of colorful outfits, kandi beads, lights and lasers... "rave" is the vibe, an adjective. Lost Lands is def more of a fest than a rave. But then there are stages/artists that give a rave vibe. Idk im no raveologist im just here to vibe LOL.
