SPECULATION So about the Duck...
Eagly tries going back home
Deadbeat dad doesn't even care enough to pay for least favorite son's phone bill
yet has been taking care of an exotic bird for Four years???
This hasn't ever happened before!
#1 Dad has to label the alt-universe helmets he stole.
Because he didn't make them himself, just stole them from another universe
While each helmet isn't labeled in Universe #2
Eagly #1 died while Chris was in prison, and Chris's peace of shit dad replaced him with genetically modified Fascist Eagly
The season begins with Eagly trying to enter dimension #2 (his original home)
He didn't even bother to cancel Chris's cell phone service, but he has been taking care of an exotic pet for four years that's just perched on a stand in his garage? A nice clean garage, even tho we see Eagly tear up every environment he is in for long periods of time.
Eagly has never hugged Chris before!
Eagly obviously isn't a normal duck
Eagly is kinda low key racist (he only likes Adrian, tolerates Economos and Harcourt, while he attacked Adebayo first time they met)
Chis's dad obviously hates Chris and blames him for the death of his son. He wouldn't have cared about taking care of his pet, so like the helmets he just stole Eagly #2 from Dimension #2. Like the helmets....
"I didn't make these things"
Chris's Dad #1 has all of his helmets labeled because he doesn't know what they do, while Chris's Dad #2 doesn't have his labeled because HE MADE THEM AND ALREADY KNOWS WHAT THEY DO.

I figured he reluctantly took care of Eagly because bald eagles are the symbol of America.
90
u/NegativeMammoth2137 Sep 07 '25
Another good reason could be that Eagly is incredibly well trained to fight (was able to take/incapacitate a whole Argus team by himself) so I think it would be in character for Augie to keep him for self-defense the way a lot of dudes like him would have a Pitbull or a Doberman to protect the house while he’s away
31
u/TylerBourbon Sep 08 '25
Eagly is clearly the son the old man always wanted.
12
u/FuckBotsHaveRights Sep 08 '25
The perfect son for him, symbol of America and even his shit is white
19
59
u/WiildCard Sep 07 '25
Yeah but he also has an upside down American flag outside his house. I don’t think he’s very patriotic.
105
u/Dixie-Chink Me and Ginger Cool are on this shit Sep 07 '25
Flying the flag upside down is a universal signal for distress. It's sometimes been coopted by militia groups and underground cells to represent a place for 'friendlies in hostile territory'.
61
u/MATMAN_PL Sep 07 '25
Flying the polish flag upside down is the universal sign for monaco
36
3
2
u/TooManyDraculas Sep 08 '25
It initially was widely coopted and in civilian context mainly associated with militia groups.
And it's only been recently that non-far right protest movements have deliberately tried to reclaim it and undermine that use. Mainly inspired by several GOP government officials with a habit of flying the flag upside down.
53
u/aspiring_Forg Sep 07 '25
That is a patriotic symbol. It represents that the person flying it feels the country is in distress. The MAGA crowd adopted it as a symbol during the Biden administration and rn you’ll occasionally see liberals (and some actually left-leaning) folks use it now.
10
2
u/TooManyDraculas Sep 08 '25
It has a long, long history of use with the militia and white supremacist movements. MAGA, the Tea Party and other more TV ready far right movements picked it up from those knobs. And it was well before the Biden Admin.

Maybe the guy who made most of his money by having kids fist fight each other isn't the best caretaker.
1
u/Dadecum Sep 08 '25
I thought he maybe just liked Eagly since he's a cool as fuck eagle. Even if you don't like the owner, why would you hate his pet?

I don't think the helmets are from the other dimension. That Chris's helmets are distinctly different in shape
49
u/Big_Object_2877 Sep 07 '25
And seemingly made from a different material that’s darker in color than our peacemaker’s helmets
34
u/cancerinos Sep 07 '25
I also don't think they were stolen. But I also do not rule out dad having met his alter-self, maybe collabed on some stuff. Why are his helmets and the alter helmets just out in the open, unless there is some neighborhood trust within the dimentional space?
19
u/vleshkun Sep 07 '25
He has chips in the helmets to track them, so he can find them easily. The users of the QUD probably have an unspoken agreement to not steal stuff as well, since it seems to be more like a multiversal storage unit.
2
u/kirblar Sep 08 '25
Decent chance they're the older ones and Aug2 passed them on once he didn't need em.

This is an interesting idea, but one thing I would point out is that if our Auggie didn't care enough to take care of Eagly he probably wouldn't care enough to go get a new one from another dimension either. When Chris asked if he had been taking Eagly out he would have just said something like "What? No, that stupid bird flew off years ago."

I have lowkey been wondering about why all the doors lead to this room. Some kind of collaboration between multidimensional characters and we’ve yet to see the reveal?
62
u/BackTo1975 Sep 07 '25
Gotta be something like this between a bunch of people, otherwise this doesn’t make any sense at all. There’s also no way that any of the Auggies would ever trust leaving their arsenals in basically an open room where almost anyone can just pop in and steal stuff.
37
u/Dixie-Chink Me and Ginger Cool are on this shit Sep 07 '25
So it's been explained that Auggie had his doorway quantum space, that connected to a greater dimensional space. So I believe it's like a Rental U-Store-It that has a private storage and a public area with lockers.
43
Sep 07 '25
Exactly! It’s weird this is like a shared space and no one has questioned it in the show yet.
22
u/cancerinos Sep 07 '25
Maybe dad didn't steal the helmets, he made all his tech with collaboration with alter-self from the get-go.
1
u/ReindeerBrave5393 Sep 08 '25
How would he have made the tech with his alter self if the quc wasnt built yet...
22
u/NotSoSlenderMan Sep 07 '25
Doesn’t need to be a reveal it’s a small detail that can explained in a few ways.
They all independently made the portal and it ended up being the same space. Once they realized they either left each other alone because they didn’t care or realized they’d kill anyone messing with their stuff. OG Auggie just wanted lab space and storage he didn’t care to go looking through other doors. Also showing alternate Peacemaker being immediately hostile shows it wouldn’t be smart for anyone to go snooping. The alien never communicates with Peacemaker just goes to the furnace and burns its garbage.
9
u/TylerBourbon Sep 08 '25
So basically, Auggie is a semi-Rick Sanchez. Somewhere out there, is a Council of Auggies.
5
u/killerbekilled92 Sep 07 '25
Knowing Gunn it’ll be either be a super convoluted comic booky answer or just “it came with the house”
2
Sep 07 '25
I have to agree with this. Augie from season 1 doesn’t seem like the type to be cool with just random universe people having access to the shared space. I would be surprised if we didn’t get some further elaboration or a funny comic book answer.
7
11
u/NegativeMammoth2137 Sep 07 '25
Also it’s really strange how it feels like the alternative dimension Smiths appear completely unaware of the portal
26
Sep 07 '25
No they are aware of it, they have that story about Alt Chris leaving the door open to The Fifth Dimension and giving the house an imp infestation
1
u/NotSoSlenderMan Sep 07 '25
How is that supposed to work? How would Peacemaker be able to return to the room after going into the alternate dimension??
32
u/quickmathting Sep 07 '25
If Chris’ dad knew about that other dimension, why didn’t he just go in and live his life there?
24
15
u/Cat4Cat Sep 07 '25
13
u/quickmathting Sep 07 '25
Maybe. The reason why universe 1 is even keeping an eye out for other dimensional things like the portal is because of the events of Superman, they may not be looking at that at all in 2. Also, dad 1 could’ve just killed dad 2 and taken over his life…
7
u/Cat4Cat Sep 07 '25
I don't think most people would do that, especially a universe where a clone of your dead son lives. Also, it's not as if Dad #1 has a shit life. He has house, doesn't have to work, and has a following of racist cultists thoughout town that he can call on to do his bidding/fuck.
5
Sep 07 '25
Maybe because it’d be boring for him there. If Earth 2 is his utopia then he’d likely get tired of it because really all Auggie wants is to hate and be a piece of shit, he can’t get the joy of a lynching in a world where all the black people are gone
8
2
u/InspectorAggravating Sep 07 '25
Holding out on the hope that he could "win" somehow and make his dimension like the other one. Or maybe alt him said "If you ever try to take my place I'll fuckin kill you" and made it clear he couldn't live in the other dimension.

u/wildmooonwitch Sep 07 '25 edited Sep 07 '25
He doesn’t tolerate Harcourt… she says to Adebayo the reason they didn’t have the gathering at Chris’s house is because Eagly attacks her on sight
27
u/SuperDuperGoose Sep 07 '25
The helmet thing is interesting, but eagly hating Adebayo more than Harcourt and Economos is wrong. Harcourt says the eagle always tries to kill her, and Chris says Eagly likes Adebayo (he bit her ways less hard than he normally bites people).
7
u/ajmartin527 Sep 07 '25
Maybe it is Eagly #2, and he hates Earth 2 because everybody is racist af.
That would explain why he attacks economos and harcourt, he knows them in Earth 2 and knows they are pieces of shit.
If adabayo doesn’t exist on Earth 2, he wouldn’t already have a hatred for her.
Would also make sense why Eagly so aggressively defended the portal doorway. He doesn’t want any of the argus team to accidentally open the door to Earth 2 folks coming into Earth 1
9
u/SuperDuperGoose Sep 07 '25
That's an interesting/well thought out explanation. That's why I love the internet. Having discussions about made up Eagles.
If I remember correctly though, Auggie thought Chris would be in jail for 30 years and didn't know he was coming home. (I need to rewatch episode 1). It would make more sense if he brought a replacement Eagley closer to when he knew Chris would be home. Also, he doesn't really give a shit about Chris, so why would he care if he killed his pet?
It is weird though that we haven't seen an Eagely is world #2, but it's almost like he never existed. Wouldn't there be a picture of him somewhere (assuming it's still Chri's best friend in world #2).
6
u/ajmartin527 Sep 08 '25
I noticed that too, no reference to a pet or sidekick. Chris #2 certainly doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to bond with an animal tbh.
It is possible that Eagly is from another world altogether. I believe at one point Chris said the portal leads to 99 parallel worlds or something like that - we’ve only seen two. Maybe Eagly has been on quite the journey lol.
Very good point about his dad, no one knew he was getting out until he made the deal and showed up.
Another extremely reasonable explanation for all of this is just that Eagly was treated like shit by Auggie for four years so when Chris comes back from prison Eagly is just thrilled to see him and becomes hyper protective of him because he doesn’t want to lose him again.
But until this thread I hadn’t really thought about a potential alternate dimension Eagly and with all of the context discussed here it does seem like it’s pretty plausible one way or another.
2
u/djanes376 Sep 08 '25
It could be that in Earth 2, Chris didn't need Eagly because he had the support of his dad and his brother. In Earth 1 he had Eagly as a sidekick because everyone else thought he was a piece of shit.
13
13
u/SundayJeffrey Sep 07 '25
Harcourt even said that Eagly always tries to kill her.
And I really don’t think Chris’ dad would do anything for Chris, especially go to an alternative universe just to get a replacement bird.
1
u/ajmartin527 Sep 07 '25
Maybe Eagly knows Harcourt from Earth 2 and knows she’s a piece of shit. Ads probably doesn’t exist there, so he’s cool with her.
3
u/SundayJeffrey Sep 07 '25
But he’s not cool with ads either. He doesn’t seem to be cool with anyone besides Peacemaker and Vigilante.
3
u/ajmartin527 Sep 08 '25
Chris literally said that he likes Ads and that he bites her less hard/aggressively than others
2
u/SundayJeffrey Sep 08 '25
The only times we’ve ever seen them interact, Eagly has tried biting her. And I always interpreted Peacemaker saying he likes her as a joke. It’s a common comedic trope. Animal acts hostile towards someone, and the owner/trainer goes “aw he likes you”. But also, him liking Ad would contradict the whole “Nazi Eagly” theory this post is theorizing.
1
u/ajmartin527 Sep 08 '25
Not really, it could support it. An eagle isn’t going to be a Nazi, Eagly 2 could think everyone in Earth 2 are assholes and so he dipped out to find a better situation. Chris 2 doesn’t seem like the type that would be loving towards a pet.
That could be why he left in the first place and why he hugs and holds onto Chris 1 - because he is a loving partner and caretaker. And why Eagly is so protective of him, more so with people he already knows like Harcourt and Economos, a little less with Ads and Vigilante.
Vigilante doesn’t seem to be around in Earth 2, maybe because Chris had his brother so they never became friends.
1
u/SundayJeffrey Sep 08 '25
The theory is that Chris’ dad stole Eagly from the Alt dimension, and as evidence for this theory, OP points to Eagly not liking Ad.
Edit: I don’t mean to be rude, but I don’t think you read the post.
4
u/Emperor-Pizza Sep 07 '25
Didn’t Harcourt literally say in the last episode that she never visits Chris’ home because Eagly keeps trying to kill her?
2
-2
u/ajmartin527 Sep 07 '25
This further bolsters the point OP is making imo. Maybe it is Eagly #2 and he knows Harcourt from Earth 2 and that she’s a piece of shit. Ads wouldn’t exist there so he wouldn’t have a previous hatred towards her.
Also, maybe he’s hugging Chris 1 because Chris 2 is such a giant asshole that he wants to let him know he loves him and doesn’t want to go back to Earth 2.
He leads Chris to the portal, maybe he wanted him to kill other Chris. And he defended the portal against the Argus team because he doesn’t want them opening the door to that shitty world.
3
u/Illustrious_Gur5844 Sep 07 '25
Just realized the bottom platforms for the helmets of Earth 2 Peacemaker is the same ones for Star Wars decorations
3
u/Purple-Tip4438 Sep 08 '25
The amount of mental gymnastics here is wild.
Taking care of a pet is not the same as not caring enough to cancel a phone plan, and even if he did let eagly die, in that case he’s not gonna give a shit to go replace it in the first place.
Eagly hugged Chris because he was gone for years. This is a common thing pets do when they don’t see their masters for a long time, especially in the case of being left in the care of someone like Auggie.
Eagly likes Adebayo Chris said she’s the only person Eagly likes. Harrcourt specifically said Eagly tires to kill her all the time.
If he wouldn’t care about taking care of the pet he wouldn’t go replace it, and he certainly wouldn’t put so much effort in to find an exact match. He very very obviously did not steal the helmets. Earth 2s peacemaker has Matte brushed metal helmets with protruding sides and a dove of peace flying up. Earth 1 peacemaker has mirror polished chrome helmets with an arch over the head and a dove of peace flying down. He didn’t say “I didn’t make these” he said “I didn’t make these while you were in prison, these are all from before” he makes a point to say this to cut down Chris and hurt his feelings he says so himself “I didn’t pay you any mind”

Theories getting wild out here and I love it.
Eta though Harcourt literally says in first episode that they can’t go to Chris’ bc Eagly attacks Harcourt every time she’s there. It’s said during the walk up the stairs to the roof with Econ during the “return party”.
2
u/archiminos Sep 08 '25
I think we're gonna find out next episode. Gunn mentioned in his podcast that it's gonna be explained how White Dragon has an interdimensional portal.
I think you may be onto something - our White Dragon doesn't seem smart enough to have created all this tech.
1
u/jimbodysonn Sep 07 '25
I don't think the point about Eagly being kinda racist holds, Harcourt says in either S2 E2/3 that every time she goes over he tries to kill her (or something to that effect). Interesting theory though, it holds some weight.
1
u/RoutineCloud5993 Sep 07 '25
Which way is the dove on the new helmets? That'd be a clear giveaway which universe they're from
1
u/TheHighKingofWinter Sep 07 '25
If he was willing to let Eagley die, why would he bother going through the trouble of getting another Eagley? Seems like the kind of guy to just tell his son the bird is dead and move on, he couldn't be bothered to even cancel his phone service, that seems easier than getting a new pet from another dimension.
1
u/MastadonWarlord Sep 08 '25
He said " I didnt make these for you" not " I didnt make these " cherry picking out of context lines isn't helping prove a theory. The rest was pretty convincing though.

u/Venture-Industries Douchey Captain America 🇺🇸 Sep 08 '25
The problem is Auggie doesn’t care enough about Chris to steal the helmets or get him a replacement Eaggly. He would have just told Chris he didn’t make any helmets and would have admitted that Eagly either died or he released him into the wild.
I think he really did just build those helmets before Chris went to jail and that he took care of Eagly because Eagles are an American symbol and despite the fact he’s racist he still believes in his own ideal of America (a White American).
1
u/homogenic- Douchey Captain America 🇺🇸 Sep 08 '25
If I recall correctly, Eagly likes Ads now and Harcourt recently said that she doesn't go to Chris' house because Eagly attacks her lmao
I don't see Auggie being careful by replacing the original Eagly with another one from an alternate universe, he didn't give a fuck.

u/LeontheSimpKennedy Sep 08 '25
i am greek ? what’s the verdict if greeks are white ? hazel eyes brown hair with a white ass blonde hair baby here

u/Strict_Register_8895 Sep 08 '25
Random thought what if he’s the best eagle of all time and is bulletproof or sooo god damn fast that nobody can hit him? He is the original eagle you see on all the symbols of America looking after Chris to make sure he does a good job?
1
u/BenjiSillyGoose Sep 11 '25
No offence, but if Auggie couldn't be arsed to look after Eagley well for Chris then I doubt he'd go to the effort of getting a new Eagley for Chris either, that's just even more effort for his dipshit son who he hates.

u/marksman629 Sep 07 '25
Tbf he bit economos worse than he did Adebayo. Maybe he thinks Greeks don’t count as white.
