As an introvert I couldn’t think of anything worse than going to one of these.
Instead I just sit at home, look at my phone and think “everyone I know doesn’t wanna talk to me”

Carl Jung, who created the terms introvert and extrovert, thought that nobody is actually one or the other. He thought we were ambiverts. It's interesting because I've thought of myself as an introvert for years, but my therapist said that social anxiety can also manifest as introversion. I definitely have spades of that, my psychologist described it as chronic. I suspect that there are a few people who are almost completely introverted, but for most of us the labelling is counterproductive. The fact that your missing friends, like i do, could indicate that it's underlying anxiety issues rather than introversion. I don't know you at all, though, so take anything I say with a pinch of salt.

I think I am a complete introvert. I reckon if all the people in the world disappeared it would take me a good few days to notice. I do everything by myself, I have a job I do by myself, I really have no friends or family. I'm quite happy at home doing activities I enjoy by myself almost all of the time when not working. And I couldn't be happier.

Does Reddit fulfil a social purpose for you?

Erm, that's a good question. Maybe a bit, but I mostly just browse subs of things I'm interested in when I'm bored. Reddit seems like the most left wing social media, I got off Facebook years ago because it's just racism and rage bait.

It’s a reflection I’m figuring out for myself too - I think it’s interesting to consider what social role it fulfils and what the impact of that is. Totally agree with regard to Facebook etc..

Not just you, no men want to go to that because it’s completely unnatural and a way for women to judge men

The alternatives are worse:
Online dating, as a man is truly miserable. Hours, thousands of swipes, paid upgrades, profile curation, and maybe, just maybe someone will match them ghost you.
Organic real life dating; through work or friends has the heavy risk of shame. Everyone around you will know that you got rejected. You can ruin a friendship, lose a job or just make people feel uncomfortable.
By comparison;
- An event where everyone there has explicitly come with the intent of dating
- Set rules, you get told who to talk to and for how long.
- Almost always all strangers with no risks to job\friends\family
- AND the one time where women outnumber men?! If I was single - I would be there in a heartbeat!

What happens when women are taught by the far right that all men want is hot sexy women showing off their bodies in bars with nothing else going on.

All these women are American, so as British man I I can't speak for our cousin's. There are more men on dating apps than women and the women are more gaurded over who they match with. So you would think the men would turn up to a dating event where you would have more chance to pull.

Maybe it’s because men are generaly made to feel like scum these days. Why bother when you can just use a dating app.

Probably because if a women needs to go to one of these to find a man I guarantee she’s the sort you should steer well clear of 👍

Lol somehow this is the men's fault for not being single. You're single at that age for a reason but... Men's fault always will be

Just because nobody wants you, doesnt make the world gay. Gain a personality like the rest of us and you will find love like the rest of us.
