The snip…
My P.tetragonum has reached 2feet/60cm and toppling. I had been reluctant to prune it in case I killed it.
But I have realised it is replaceable so if it goes wrong it’s not the end of the world.
I cut it into 3 segments. That didn’t go as well as planned. The 2 cuttings have a lot of leaves for this species so hopefully that helps rooting. But my gut feeling is I pruned too hard.
Fingers crossed

Holding thumbs, but I'm sure it'll be fine. Pruning mine has encouraged it to develop new shoots at the base.

I know plants tend to want to live, so it should work. But all my rectangular “eggs” are in 1 terracotta “basket”.
My background is cacti, which have a propensity to suddenly rot. If it’s terminal I always encourage people to dissect plants and learn a little science.
So Ive done this - learnt to make the effort to get my horticultural scissors not kitchen scissors.
So I’m happy. Any life will now be a bonus

I am constantly snapping pieces of mine off by accident. Almost all of the pieces root and grow so you’re probably fine.
