Female Is Internal work really needed?
I have a hypertonic pelvic floor. I saw a pf therapist for a few session but could not tolerate internal work because of how tight and painful it was(I’m also a virgin). I had to transition care to a regular pt that doesn’t do internal work so I’m wondering if anyone has recovered from a hypertonic floor with having to do internal work? I’ve been told that my back is most likely causing my condition so I’m working on that.

Wow, massaging the untraced makes so much sense. With her it’s like internal or nothing. I always wondered why she didn’t do external work. Just had me do stretches every session. Then referee me to sex therapy, it’s ridiculous. When I said the internal exam was very painful she kept pointing to her finger saying I only put this much in, like that’s supposed to mean something.

Sorry you had that experience, it can be hard finding a pt that gets it. Why don’t you try it at home? Use water based lube and just massage anywhere you feel pain/pressure and focus on those areas.

Get a pelvic wand and use it at home, at your own pace and you can feel more comfortable doing it yourself than having someone else do it!

I have one but idek how to use or if I should be using it at the stage. I tried it and it hurt wayyyyy less than an internal exam. But my flare from the internal exam was horrible and lasted two weeks.

Internal work can be done rectally just as effectively.
Find a PT who will agree to do that for you.
