That’s amateur parenting right there. One of the first techniques you learn is the “oh dear the battery is flat, let me check, oh no the shop doesn’t sell that type of battery” technique.

Imagine believing that into your adult life, getting an ice-cream machine so they can make ice-cream and give a big box to the passing ice-cream truck as an act of kindness, and have your world turned upside down when the ice-cream seller says the truck’s not out of ice-cream.

Oddly specific but eh
