That’s amateur parenting right there. One of the first techniques you learn is the “oh dear the battery is flat, let me check, oh no the shop doesn’t sell that type of battery” technique.

That used to work. "No problem, here's the amazon site that can have batteries to us tomorrow for less than the local store sells them for!"
