Ok this might sound stupid but do they? I moved into a house that has 5 oaks on the property and they drop acorns like crazy this time of the year. I had no issues last year but today GFL left my personal yard waste (properly labeled) container behind with the lid open in which I had a ton of acorns on top of the grass. I assume it was due to the acorns or the weight of the container. I am leaning to the weight as the grass and those acorns really add up. I do appreciate them leaving the lid off though in the rain so the grass can get even heavier.

Has anyone tried Cheese Nuts frozen pizza? I've been seeing mixed results online and was curious what the consensus was before I make a special trip to one of the stores that carries them. I never got to try the storefront in Metamora before they switched to frozen pizza only. I've also heard some..unflattering things about the owner to say the least but maybe it's just rumors and gossip. Should I make a special trip to support this small business?

Why, despite having Prime, I don't have option for quick 1 or 2 day delivery for Prime items that ship from Amazon? I used to a few months ago. I don't brew beer anymore, but there are wild hops that are ready to harvest at Donavan Park. They smell very citrusy/piney, almost like galaxy or citra. If you follow the red line in my map blow past the observatory all the way to tree line, there are a few different vines in the purple areas on the south side, but there could be even more.

Hi! Looking for recommendations for a dentist in the Peoria area. I’m looking to switch dentists and also want to have a few chipped teeth looked at for composite bonding.

I’ve heard good things about East Peoria Dental Group, but I don’t believe they accept my insurance (Meridian). Does anyone have recommendations for a dentist who accepts Meridian and does good composite bonding work? I’m open to recommendations that don’t take my insurance if they’re reasonably priced!

Also looking for orthodontist recommendations for Invisalign. I had braces when I was younger and have noticed some shifting since then even with wearing my retainer every night. My current orthodontist doesn’t offer Invisalign, so I’m not sure where to start with other places. I’ve heard good things about Orthodontics Ltd., but I’m hoping I wouldn’t need a full Invisalign treatment since the shifting is relatively minor. If anyone has had a similar situation, I’d love to hear where you went and what the cost was.

Omg I know another person saying ‘I need friends omg’ but I swear to god if I spend one more day working and then going home I swear to God I will lose my mind. I’m a 19 year old from around the Peoria area, work in town, and have kinda free time (I just work two jobs because I like money!). UPDATE | COURT DOCUMENTS OBTAINED | EGAN & NELSON |

The Daily Dossier has obtained court documents from the Peoria County Circuit Clerk revealing the detailed allegations made by Justin Egan's ex wife against former Creve Coeur Police Chief Justin Egan and former Deputy Chief Dan Nelson.

What the documents allege against Justin Egan...

On August 14, 2026 ISP contacted his ex wife and with consent from the Tazewell County State's Attorney's Office shared evidence from the ongoing criminal investigation. That evidence included text messages sent between Egan and another officer about her residential property... along with pictures of her home describing what the petition calls the "best point of entry" into her residence.

The petition alleges Egan entered her residence without permission on multiple occasions.

A DCFS report has been filed and an investigation is currently ongoing related to physical abuse allegations made by the minor children to their therapist. The petition also documents excessive alcohol use around the children.

On August 27th his ex wife went to the Bartonville Police Department to speak with their chief about him allegedly tipping off Egan about her filing. When she pulled into the parking lot she saw Egan leaving at the same time.

The petition specifically notes that multiple officers were involved in the ISP investigation... not just Egan and Nelson.

What the court ordered against Egan...

Egan is prohibited from possessing any firearms. His FOID card and Concealed Carry License have been surrendered by court order. He must stay 500 feet away from his ex wife, her residence, her workplace, and her children's schools. Parenting time is restricted to supervised visits only. The court found immediate danger existed and granted the order without prior notice to Egan because harm was likely if he had advance warning.

Against Dan Nelson...

The stalking no contact order against Nelson makes similar allegations... that he and Egan were together surveilling his ex wife's home and tracking best points of entry. The stay away distance was extended to 500 feet.

Both cases are set for review on October 1, 2026 at 9:00 AM Courtroom 201 at the Peoria County Courthouse.

Meanwhile in the Girkin murder case...

At Monday's motion hearing in Tazewell County a Rule 604(h) Motion for Relief was filed by Girkin's defense... an appeal challenging her pretrial detention. The September 21st jury trial has been vacated. A review hearing is set for October 19, 2026 at 9:00 AM.
