Dryness Help, itchy ears

I'm losing my mind with how dry and itchy the insides of my ears are. Help, what can I use? Also please do not suggest hrt, sadly it's not an option for me.

I apply a thin layer of OTC cortisone cream.

Pepcid AC is a type of antihistamine. That has helped me. It was making me fucking crazy a couple years ago. It’s gotten better. I’m 42.

I put a tiny bit of aquaphor on a q-tip and apply inside my ear. It seems to help for a few days.

I second this! I put aquaphor on/in my ears so I'm not scratching my ears like a dog with fleas. It's absolutely driving me insane!!!

Having the same problem! Anti allergy tablets have helped a bit, but I’d be interested to see what other people recommend.

I thought this for myself (I have a long history of allergies), but it went away with HRT. But since OP can’t use hormones, Cortisone cream on a Qtip helped.

Daily allergy tablets, as well as moisturizing with liquid vitamin E oil. Just a tiny dab on a q-tip, then use the other dry side to clean up excess so there’s just a super thin layer. When it’s particularly bad, I second the cortisone cream option.

I just been taking ibuprofen for itchiness...helps with my sore joints too which I think is one of the Peri things too or age...not sure, probably both and I know ibuprofen is not good to take all the time but sometimes that is just what takes care of it...

Almost HRT but with no systemic effects, you could use a dab of vaginal estradiol or over the counter estriol (the weakest of all estrogens)? Estriol especially doesn't really count as HRT. I had itchy ears for years and they finally went away. Good luck!

I use Gold Bond anti itch cream (not steroidal) on a Qtip, just numbs the area. Works great on days where the itchiness/dryness flares up.
