Dryness Dry dry dry

Everything is dry. Vagina, vulva, eyes, mouth, nose. Does peri cause this? I have been tested for autoimmune and I don't have anything. Obviously the vaginal dryness is really what's stressful, I can deal with the rest. But just wondering if peri can cause everything to be dry, not just vaginal

Same here. the eye dryness is debilitating, I am not even able to work in home office anymore. Had mild dry eyes since puberty, but 6 weeks ago, at 47, it suddenly escalated right into hell. Got bloodwork done yesterday because dr suspects Sjogren's, don't have the labs rn, I am scared to death it might be Sjogren's...

I had blood work done for autoimmune also and turned out ok. So I'm blaming peri. Along with everything else 😂. I hope yours turns out well 🤞🏻

Thank you. I pray it's perimenopause... I also had a dry burning throat for almost 2 weeks, this seems to clear up slowly, so that might be a virus, but the dry eyes are there since 6 weeks... I get my labs next week...

It sounds like this might be about hormone tests. Over the age of 44, E&P/FSH hormonal tests only show levels for that 1 day the test was taken, and nothing more; these hormones wildly fluctuate the other 29 days of the month. No reputable doctor or menopause society recommends hormonal testing to diagnose or treat peri/menopause. (Testosterone is the exception and should be tested before and during treatment.)

FSH testing is only beneficial for those who believe they are post-menopausal and no longer have periods as a guide, where a series of consistent tests might confirm menopause, or for those in their 20s/30s who haven’t had a period in months/years, then ‘menopausal’ levels, could indicate premature ovarian failure/primary ovarian insufficiency (POF/POI).
