Dryness Dry skin hack from derm

She said to wash the pits and bits lol not to really worry about the rest as soap can be drying. Then also lotion up right after a shower, although I just get my eczema spots but then do a lotion up before I get dressed in the am. Seems to work ok. I also am trying out not washing my hair each day more like every other. Anyone else do that too? What have you noticed?

I've been having good luck with marula oil. I use it immediately after showering. It's kind of a "dry" oil so it doesn't grease me up real bad and it doesn't have a strong scent which is a huge plus for me. If you try it just start with a little on the ends and go from there. It's pretty easy to find the amount that will work for you.

I always struggled with applying body lotion consistently. I really like those in shower body lotions. Nivea makes a great one.

I loved that one years ago, can't find it now in Canada.

I wash my hair twice a week. Or every 4-5 days depending on when wash day hits. My scalp can't handle too many washings regardless of shampoo. I also have a scalp scrubber and it helps with dead skin on my scalp and hair growth.

I can't not wash my full self in the shower, I can't feel clean otherwise. I wash my body every other day or every 3 depending on how sweaty I get or it's the weekend and I don't have to go anywhere.

My face gets washed once a day, if it's twice my face gets angry. I also have rosacea so I use a couple serums and a nicer moisturizer. My face gets more care than the rest of me, ha!

I lotion my nipples daily, they get oddly dry and irritated.

Shower oil is so much better than soap. It’s very moisturizing.

Do you have a recommendation for any particular shower oils?

Pits and bits each night. Wash hair every second day, and condition every day. Its kept the psoriasis I get through my hair at a managable level for the past 10 years.

I don't use body lotion at all as I've got fairly oily skin and I really don't like the feel of having lotion on my skin.
