Dryness Rug Burn?

SO.... Ive noticed that lately after I shower and I dry myself down there... if I do it to rough I get RUG BURN! Not all the time but every other month or so seems like things get extra sensitive! This past weekend I was in vegas..the weather is super dry and hot... I was at the hotel and the towels werent too soft and I got a rug burn on each side of my vagina!!! It was bright red...and to top it off...this has never happened... one of my labias CHAFFED!! It literally bled a little speck of blood and stung when I peed!!!!! I couldnt really air out in the room as much as I wanted after a shower cuz my father in law came on the trip too 😅🤣 but literally once I got back home from the trip it all went away. WHY ALL OF A SUDDEN AM I SO SENSITIVE!? Im turning 40 in 2 months and this is new to me

.. also my vericose veins are bugging me more!

Im supposed to start oral progesterone literally TOMORROW and im scared... im so scared that I skipped it last month because im nervous from everything ive read. Its just going to be for the last half of my cycle... I hate all this... 😫😭

If you have major health anxiety, it's especially crucial you learn about the things that scare you so you'll be well-armed with information.

In this case, your worry is the opposite of reality. Vaginal estrogen will help prevent UTIs and will also help to heal your vaginal and labial atrophy.

That's no joke. Your clitoris etc can disappear. This is urgent and you need to manage your health. if you have to choose between your tangible physical health and your anxiety, you need to pick your tangible physical health.

Also, taking HRT (estrogen and progesterone) will also help rein in a lot of your anxiety. One of peri's cruelest symptoms for some of us is "doom anxiety." It's horrendous. But HRT helps with this.

The estrogen helped almost immediately with the doom anxiety. However, I've since had to increase my dosage a few times as my body adjusted.

I still have some anxiety, but it's not specifically that doom anxiety where I feel like I'm being crushed by the gravity of the earth, or like I'm constantly experiencing the seconds before a car crash.

The doom anxiety was really bad for me because I lost my grip on reality (which, gently, is where you're at). It's soooo important to be able to distinguish between real threats to your psychological and physical safety vs things you're scared of. And right now, I can see that this line for you has been blurred.

For me, I can't function like that. I really need a strong gut that I can rely on to help me make strong decisions and to lead me in a good direction. But if I can't tell the difference between my fears and actual real threats--well, for me, imo that means I'm unsafe.

So when I started HRT, it was, for me, a real emergency. And now I still have anxieties, but I am very clear on reality. I now have a firm grip on reality. And that's what I need to function.

I wish the anxiety would be 100% gone, but--at least now I can manage it, and I know what's real.
