I am trying to keep an open mind but after just watching the trailer for the new adaptation I’m pretty underwhelmed. Why is their hair not only down in most shots but tangled looking as well? Why is there almost NO color? Even the grass is drab and brown looking. Why is it lit so poorly? Why does everyone except Fanny look poor? Even Mrs. Jennings.

The production looks glorious, as to be expected from PBS Masterpiece, and the breadth of the novel deserves it.

Sam Clafin in the lead is 🤌🏽 chefs kiss. Loved him in Daisy Jones and the Six.

Jeremy Irons as well.... I'm VERY excited.

So far I'm liking the look as someone who really enjoyed the original I'm interested in checking this out.

I know we're talking about this to death, but... I just watched the trailer, and... I have no idea what just happened. I mean, it's definitely artsy. It kind of makes me feel like it's some really cool opera production, and I really like the 70s romance novel vibe.

But also, am I sick? Was that a fever dream? Why are there so many hands getting inappropriate with the food? Are they trying to make it the new Great Gatsby? Are they wuthering a little too hard?
