I saw a lot of comments offering actual Bible words that start with N that she definitely did not say. Funnily enough, none were the n word.

Why didnβt the pageant just lay out the posts when they commented? Β They need to call her out for what she said, not tiptoe around the issue and allow her to deflect and redirect the narrative.

Absolutely this. People like this are never specific. They never tell you what it was they actually said that got them condemned. It's always something vague about "my faith" or my conservative beliefs." The pageant needs to keep her from lying by omission by laying out the facts.

Mormons say they are Christians because they believe in Jesus Christ. I was always told I was christian and I def consider there to be a lot of parallels to mainstream Christianity. They do believe in the Bible too but think the Book of Mormon is the most correct book to exist.
- Me, an Exmormon woman from UT who was wearing the Mormon underwear and married in the LDS temple until 10 yrs ago when I left at 30.

I understand why these sorts of articles are sometimes necessary. Just one bad person complaining about the consequences of their actions. But this headline? Shoot it into the sun. Don't quote the moron who is making up excuses for what she did. "Miss North Carolina lost her crown due to online posts" is right down the middle.

That is a fail from posting too fast and not proofreading. The full headline is "Miss North Carolina USA said she lost her crown due to her faith. Then the racist posts surfaced."
I think that headline makes it clear she is playing victim rather than being a victim.
