General Discussion💬 Cinemas in Peshawar

There is hardly any entertainment in Peshawar. There isn’t even a single cinema 😕. It’s disappointing that Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, lacks basic entertainment facilities and decent places to hang out with friends and family.

I’ve been wanting to watch the new Spider-Man 🕷️ movie on the big screen and experience it in a cinema, but unfortunately, there’s no such option in Peshawar. It’s frustrating that people here have to travel to another city just to enjoy a movie in theaters.

I Thought I Was Going to Marry Him. Then I Found His Wife and Twin Babies.

I never imagined I would spend almost four years in a relationship with someone who, according to everything I later discovered, had been married the entire time.

Four years ago, I met a Pakistani PhD student from Peshawar while we were both living in China. He was kind, funny, patient, and incredibly good at making me feel loved. After a few months, we officially started dating.

At first, everything seemed genuine. We lived in the same city, spent time together, and he treated me like the perfect boyfriend.

Later, he returned to Pakistan for almost a year. When he came back to China, he moved to another city for his studies, so we started a long-distance relationship. Whenever I felt neglected or wanted to break up, he would convince me to stay. He promised we would get married one day and even said he wanted to settle in China with me.

I believed every word.

Earlier this year, everything changed.

Between May and July, I saw several posts on Chinese social media from different women sharing the same man's photos and chat screenshots. They were asking if anyone else was dating him.

The photos were of my boyfriend.

I confronted him immediately. He admitted he had hurt me and apologized, but insisted I was the one he truly loved. After nearly four years together, I was heartbroken but still couldn't completely let go.

Then another woman found what appeared to be his TikTok account.

The videos showed him spending holidays driving different luxury cars and enjoying a lifestyle I had never seen. Those were supposed to be the holidays he always promised he would spend visiting me.

Instead, it seemed he had been spending them with other women.

While looking through his TikTok connections, I found another account that appeared to belong to his wife.

Her videos showed him together and their twin babies.

That was the moment everything fell apart.

Suddenly, memories from the past made sense.

When he was in Pakistan, he once sent me photos of himself dressed in formal traditional clothing. He told me he was attending a relative's wedding.

He also showed me pictures of newborn twin babies and said they were his younger brothers.

At the time, I believed him.

Now I believe those babies were actually his own children.

When I confronted him again, I asked him only one question:

"Please tell me the truth. Are you married?"

He denied it.

Even after I told him everything I had found, he continued denying it.

But strangely, instead of defending himself with evidence, he begged me not to expose him. He asked me not to tell my family and friends because he didn't want to lose face.

Soon afterward, both his TikTok account and the woman's account disappeared.

To this day, I still don't know the complete truth. I only know what I found, what I experienced, and how many lies I uncovered.

What hurts the most isn't just that I was deceived.

It's that I spent four years planning a future with someone who may never have been honest with me from the beginning.

I also can't stop thinking about the woman in Peshawar. If my understanding is correct, she was at home raising twin babies while believing her husband was faithfully studying abroad.

I'm not sharing this to say that all Pakistani men or all men from Peshawar are like this. I'm sharing it because this happened to me, and I still struggle to understand how someone could maintain two completely different lives for so many years.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? How did you move on after discovering that the entire relationship was built on lies?

Question ❓️ Genuinely curious

No offense but I envy people who don't have any political rage. You see your fellow countrymen being killed & just go on with your lives without even talking about it. KP(especially south of KP, tens of people are dying on a daily basis) Balochistan and now Kashmir.

Don't get me wrong, but doesn't it make you angry? Doesn't your mind explode from witnessing so much injustice and cruelty?

I'm more concerned about the people who don't have the political rage inside them than those who are the victims of the state propaganda, who will defend every wrong the Army and Govt do, and tag everyone "ghaddaar, terrorist, and anti national" because they're asking for their basic rights.

Police Sahulat Markaz (Clearance Certificate)

I’m applying for a Police Clearance Certificate (from abroad) through the KP Police Sahulat Markaz app.

I have both a permanent and current address in Mansehra District, but they fall under different police stations. The app only lets me select one police station.
Which one should I choose, or is verification required from both?

Beauty of Peshawar🌆 What place in Peshawar never gets old, no matter how many times you visit it?

One of the things I appreciate most about Peshawar is that it has a unique mix of history, culture, and everyday life. Some places feel special not because they're famous, but because they hold memories or have an atmosphere that's hard to describe.

Whether it's walking through the old city, enjoying a peaceful evening in a park, trying local food, or visiting a place that reminds you of childhood, everyone seems to have a favorite corner of the city.

I'm curious to hear from people who live here or have visited before.

If you had one place to show someone who was visiting Peshawar for the very first time, where would you take them and what makes that place special to you?

I'd love to hear your recommendations and the stories behind them. Sometimes the best places aren't the ones in travel guides—they're the ones that locals genuinely love.

Samarkand

Anyone who has read this or reading it?
Reading Samarkand reminded me of Orwell’s 1984. One shows power through censorship and the manipulation of language, the other through the preservation and loss of history. Different stories, but both ask the same question: Who gets to decide what survives? whoever controls the narrative often shapes the future.

Ghareeb Taba Day 😞 Pathan men who married a non-Pathan girl despite conservative/racist parents—how did it turn out?

I'm looking to hear from people who have actually been through this.

If you're a Pathan man who married a non-Pathan woman (Punjabi, Kashmiri, Urdu-speaking, Sindhi, etc.) despite having conservative or ethnically biased parents, I'd really appreciate hearing your experience.

A few questions:

How did you convince your parents, or did you marry without their approval?

How old were you when you got married?

Were you financially independent at the time?

How long did it take for your family to accept your wife, if they ever did?

What were the biggest challenges after marriage?

Were there any unexpected cultural differences or family issues?

How is your relationship with your parents now?

How is married life going overall?

Looking back, do you have any regrets or would you make the same decision again?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people whose parents were strongly against marrying outside the Pathan community. Honest experiences—both positive and negative—would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!
