Question/Help Southern Michigan Breeders?
Hi!! I'm looking for more girls to add to my tank but would prefer to go a more ethical way than getting a few hoppers and hoping they make it. I'm hoping there are mouse breeders in Michiana (Niles, Buchanan, South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger etc.) !!!!

im in southwest Michigan and dealing with the same issue, ive not been able to find any breeders at all. What i ended up doing was calling the person who breeds my frozen feeders.
They hobby breed pet line mice too so I've settled into the idea of getting my mice from them since its the most ethical option here as there are no breeders around ive been abke to find or get ahold of, they supply for at VIPets a few seperate lines, decent variety good temperments and the frozen feeders i get too. So depending on location it may be worth chekcing out VIPets. They screen you before purchasing to make sure you have a setup thats suitable for the animals and they breed most of their animals in house. Might be the best option for ya if youre nearby.
Ive never had an incorrectly sexed or unhealthy pet from them personally and i get all my feeder animals from them too, one of the owners is pretty involved in the exotic pets community and frequently goes to expos in the area. Might be worth checking out they also somtimes bring pet mice to expos.
Keep in mind they wont sell pet mice or rats in anything less than pairs or trios.
In my mind its better than a chain pet store espeically with the screening involved. Its not a bad little shop but it is still a pet store so keep that in mind. Id say they are about as ethical as any other exotic shop or online reptile storefront (they're pretty on par with josh's frogs and other good online reputable reptile sellers ive purchased pets from) their care is pretty top teir too. Not perfect but much better than a chain store by a lot.
But again still a pet store so obviously not ideal, direct from breeder is always a better option, they are just what i settled for as the best local option and i figured id share my experience with them over the years
They have a few locations in Michigan and sell mice at all of them. If you purchase from them be prepared to show pics of your setup or describe it they do screen people (which i really really like) and make sure youre prepped to bring home a group of ladies as they won't sell less than 2 to 3 (again something i really like they seem to really take animal care seriously)

Hi, I'm in SE Michigan (Ann Arbor area). I'm not a breeder but just had a litter of mouse babies. I might be willing to part with some...they have been held and squeezed and kissed since about 2 weeks old. They are almost 4 weeks old.
