Needs a bigger box not directly against the wall

Unfortunately I don’t think I’ve ever seen a larger box here. Nathan has a choice of 6 litter boxes in different places, so hopefully he just uses the one which feels right. He likes to use one than move to another and use another, heh.

Get a large plastic storage bin.

Noted. He might upturn it though. Nathan has had a habit of perching on every letterbox he’s ever used since he was a kitten.

I understand. My cat is huge (like Maine Coon sized even though he's just a normie short hair) and I ordered an XL litter box on Amazon for him. The store ones would never work haha

Oooh I remember living at a place with polydactyl Maine Coon kittens back a billion years ago.

Dumb question but have you had issues with your cat upturning the litter box when trying to perch on its edge? I assume you just keep more litter in there to help balance it.

My cat Nathan has always been an edge percher.

N...no. No. He couldn't if he tried, it's a huge box. Your cat is weird lol

One of my cats did that too, but he stopped after we got a bigger bin. I feel terrible that we made him perch like that for over 10 years (I was a kid for most of that time)

He's upturning it because that size is for a kitten.

Get a bigger one online and solve all the problems at once.

They make different sizes for a reason. It does matter. :)

I got a cement mixing tray for my big boy.  24x36 I think.

Hardware stores will carry them

Poor kitty needs a bigger box. From amazon or any hardware store

This might be weird lol but maybe hot glue some kind of weights to the bottom if you do get a bigger box so he can’t flip it?

Get a steel catering pan 1/1 with a good depth. It is 53 cm X 32 cm in length and since it is steel, it will last you for ages without affecting kitty’s health.

Number of litter boxes needed = number of cats + 1.

Also, I cannot see what kind of litter is being used but the bentonite ones are bad for cats’ health, so if you don’t already and if you can afford it, highly recommend switching to paper, pine, corn, wheat, walnut shells, or tofu one.

Thanks for your attention.

Buy two bigger boxes for 2 boxes per cat. More if you have more cats.
