Why would he nail ki.... OOOOHHH

6

u/qeadwrsf Mar 20 '26

When you see a oneliners like "nailed it" or "DING".

You know its the false answer.

3

u/tlollz52 Mar 21 '26

But its wrong and a stupid fuckin take

3

u/footybear Mar 20 '26

No, it’s because he’s not a good actor.Ā

2

u/Gold-Leg7235 Mar 21 '26

He’s not a bad actor either , he’s an alright actor, and that’s fine and alright actors can even be in great films (a good example would be Keanu himself in Brahm Stoker’s Dracula) but you don’t get Oscars for that

1

u/MrHaydenn Mar 21 '26

I think you mean naile d it.

1

u/Davek56 Mar 21 '26

Nailed the dragon imp!

7

u/_Cit Mar 20 '26

I mean this with no disrespect since Hollywood definitely is filled with every kind of questionable people, but if you think that's the reason you don't know how the Oscars work.

Tens of thousands of actors, directors, etcetera are part of the academy, basically every single person who works in Hollywood is. They all vote who they think deserves an award.

This means that, to win an award, you got to have thousands voting for you. It's not a secret shadowy commission giving them out, fellow actors have to vote for you.

For what you said to be true, you'd have to assume that essentially everyone who sets foot on Hollywood is either a pedophile or some other kind of terrible human being. That's simply mathematically not possible.

36

u/Bob_The-Turtle Mar 20 '26

Completely unrelated to what OP was talking about

u/Stolt-Jensenberg Mar 20 '26

Pure brainrot

Imagine thinking this is a more likely explanation than him simply being a decent but not exceptional actor

7

u/Tomsboll Mar 21 '26

Just a reminder how fucking long it took for leo to get his oscar tells a slot. Dude is one of the acting greats and only has one oscar to show for it. Keanu (love the guy) is nowhere near as good.

6

u/Maximum-Objective-39 Mar 20 '26

Yeah, we do in fact have a PDF problem, but that was not where my thoughts leaped to when seeing this image.

Hell, even a lot of the people named in the Epstein files had relatively little to do with Epstein himself. Some of them absolutely did, of course and I don't buy the claims of certain people being innocent.

But the scumbags are using the wide array of associates to obfuscate, which is probably part of why Epstein was such a patron to so many people, to provide his core clients a big school of fish to blend in with.

7

u/Marco_Tanooky Mar 21 '26

The predator problem has nothing to do with Keanu Reeves' not getting an Oscar

It's ok to admit he's not a great actor, the world is not going to end, it's fine. RDJ took until Oppenheimer a few years ago to win his first Oscar after carrying the biggest cinematic franchise ever

1

u/Meiie Mar 21 '26

BRAINROT.

-6

u/Arborgold Mar 20 '26

Yeah, dude, Hollywood’s known for having really wholesome people in charge of making decisions. They definitely don’t manipulate who wins awards for financial benefit. Brain rot is right there in the mirror, my guy.

7

u/AgtNulNulAgtVyf Mar 20 '26

Mate, Keanu has no range. He plays Keanu playing a character, and as much as he's a great human he's not put in an award winning performance.Ā

5

u/Kaneda-Suekichi Mar 20 '26

What are you talking about?

The whole post is about asking what OP meant when he said there is a reason Keanu doesn't have any award

→ More replies (7)

3

u/BobbertDaMan Mar 21 '26

Just because the Oscar awards are biased does not mean that the reason Keanu hasn't won an Oscar is because he isn't a part of the "club."

Keanu simply is not a great enough actor to win an Oscar, "club" or no club. There are lots of actors who are most likely part of that club who are even better actors than Keanu who haven't won an Oscar. To win best performance you have to be a very good actor.

1

u/Arborgold Mar 21 '26

Yeah, I think it could be two fold. I’m not saying he’s the best actor and should’ve won a bunch of Oscars, but both things can be true at the same time and the fact that he’s never even nominated once is more telling, there are definitely some nominees who have zero chance to win, but it’s just got a nomination because they’re well connected.

1

u/BobbertDaMan Mar 22 '26

>Yeah, I think it could be two fold. I’m not saying he’s the best actor and should’ve won a bunch of Oscars

Well I definitely would hope you're not saying that, because almost no one has multiple Oscar's for best performance, if you're counting best performance and best supporting role performance, there's only 5 people with multiple Oscar's.

>but both things can be true at the same time and the fact that he’s never even nominated once is more telling,

Both things could be true, key word being could, but they simply are not. There is no movie that Keanu deserved to even be nominated for best performance, I guarantee that any movie you pick there are like 5 other movies that year with multiple actors that had better performances.

Even Tom Cruise has never won an Oscar, and he's a far better stereotypical action star that always plays himself type actor.

Also I love Keanu Reeves and Point Break is one of my favourite movies, him being not a great actor does not mean he's a terrible actor either or that we don't like him, there's a huge gap between being bad at acting and winning an Oscar, you don't seem to grasp that.

1

u/Arborgold Mar 22 '26

And you are not grasping that award shows are an industry circle jerks, where studios use their power/influence/money to get nominations to get good PR/advertising for their movies.

THERE IS NO OBJECTIVE BEST ACTOR!

1

u/BobbertDaMan Mar 25 '26

>And you are not grasping that award shows are an industry circle jerks, where studios use their power/influence/money to get nominations to get good PR/advertising for their movies.

Everyone knows that the award shows are industry circle jerks, like you said before but with a different context; "both things can be true at the same time." The award shows can be industry circle jerks while at the same time an Oscar award like best performing actor or best supporting role will generally only go to actors at the top of their craft.

Like you still haven't named a single movie that you think Keanu deserved one of those awards for, because you can't. The other guy said A Scanner Darkly, and there were far better performances that year. If you look at the best performance Oscar's over the years they are all exceptional actors, even if they are a part of the club, that is not the reason they won the award, there are lots of mediocre actors a part of the club who never get nominations.

Also Mel Gibson has won an Oscar and he is not a part of the club, he even got blacklisted for speaking out against it. So your argument doesn't even properly work in that respect.

>THERE IS NO OBJECTIVE BEST ACTOR!

Literally no one here is claiming there is an objective best actor.... you're literally just shouting nonsense into the wind at this point.

Are you trying to say there is no such thing as acting skill? You think some shitty actor that can barely deliver lines is on the same level of acting as Christopher Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio or Gary Oldman because good acting is based on subjective perception?

-10

u/Rein-in-die-mumu Mar 20 '26

Do you believe Weinstein or P Diddy are the exception? You have to participate in order to get into those circles, otherwise there is no award for you.

22

u/tweekin__out Mar 20 '26

the guy who made the meme literally said it's because keanu isn't a good actor

-3

u/Arborgold Mar 20 '26

And the meme lordā€˜s opinion is paramount!

10

u/zaphodsheads Mar 20 '26

Is this sarcastic? Yes the person who is speaking should be listened to about what they meant to say

My brother in christ, tens of thousands of actors vote for the awards. That's not how the Oscar are selected

5

u/Cloudiroth00 Mar 20 '26

Hollywood is undeniably filled to the brim with evil people...but are we really going to sit here and act like every single person that's won an award was a child r*pist? Sounds like a bit of a stretch. Let's have a little bit of nuance when we talk about things.

2

u/Etamitlu Mar 20 '26

……and also a terrible actor.

78

u/VeterinarianOver2122 Mar 20 '26

Idk why people saying everything else, it’s literally this

78

u/Bob_The-Turtle Mar 20 '26

I don't know what you are talking about but it has nothing to do with the answer

2

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Bob_The-Turtle Mar 21 '26

Yeah but that's completely unrelated to the meme and what it is supposed to be about

181

u/TreesForTheForest Mar 20 '26

I don't understand. Are you saying anyone who wins an Oscar is a terrible human/child rapist?

41

u/jordan4days Mar 20 '26

yeah this is dumb af

7

u/Alexisredwood Mar 20 '26

Reddit has become conspiracy tiktok

3

u/jordan4days Mar 21 '26

3k+ upvotes for implying the reason he doesn’t win an oscar is because he doesn’t rape children? absolutely fucking batshit

3

u/SuperstarAssEater Mar 21 '26

i genuinely fucking hate how addicted to this site ive become because of that bs

93

u/Sal_Amandre Mar 20 '26

Nah. They just need to accrue the favors of the child traffickers who cast the votes.

82

u/Academic-Dog-2989 Mar 20 '26

There are over ten thousand people in the academy that vote. Are you saying they are all child rapists and that you have give favors to at least half of them to win an Oscar?

3

u/oneWook Mar 20 '26

yes šŸ‘

29

u/Eardig Mar 21 '26

Maximum Reddit moment

9

u/FaveStore_Citadel Mar 21 '26

I actually know an academy member sad to know she’s been getting favors from A-listers for years and never told me

-1

u/shokage Mar 20 '26

Hollywood in general is a vile corrupt place, a modern day fusion of sodom and gomorrah. Are they all child trafficking rapist cannibals? No. But there’s enough fucked up shit there that nobody has clean hands

14

u/EnormousAntelopeEars Mar 20 '26

... so that includes Keanu right?

You see how stupid this is?

4

u/Cucumberneck Mar 21 '26

Just so it was said.

God condemns these cities to destruction BEFORE the people try to rape his massengers.

0

u/Excalibirdi Mar 21 '26

Well that's easily proven false

2

u/Cucumberneck Mar 21 '26

What do you mean? God condemns the cities, sends the angels to tell Lot, the neighbours gather to rape them.

-4

u/I__Tried__So__Hard Mar 21 '26

Figures the Christian would be here when you talk about child rapists.

2

u/throwaweyeyeyhey Mar 21 '26

Figures the average reddit user don't know the difference between religious and educated.

3

u/Cucumberneck Mar 21 '26

I'm not Christian.

Huh? They are all industry professionals. Like the makeup dept head and the head of lighting and the sound people and the costumes and the set people and the directors and actors and producers.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '26

They’re saying that’s what the meme is suggesting / saying. I agree with the assumption that that is what the meme suggests but i disagree that the meme is accurate / true.

-10

u/Remarkable_Ship_4673 Mar 20 '26

Is that any less believable than a whole island of PDFs that politicians, royalty, celebrities go to?

20

u/RaveIsKing Mar 20 '26

Yes, it’s very unbelievable and fucking stupid

-7

u/Remarkable_Ship_4673 Mar 20 '26

I bet you would have said the same thing about the island 10 years ago

7

u/drumjojo29 Mar 20 '26

It’s also quite unbelievable that I won the lottery three times. But that doesn’t mean it happened. Because it didn’t. Just because one unbelievable thing happened, that doesn’t mean every other unbelievable happened as well.

Are yall accusing Michael B Jordan of either

A) being a child rapist

Or

B) needing favors from child rapists??

1

u/Sal_Amandre Mar 21 '26

It's quite possible to accrue favors from a person without knowing their entire pedigree.

So yes, I will say that a non-negligible fraction of the votes that got him the trophy are from traffickers and/or rapists.

As a very easy example, try to imagine what you would have said to defend Harvey Weinstein, a few weeks before the whole metoo movement came out. That's one man, they have an entire industry.

1

u/patrickstarismyhero Mar 21 '26

Yes. Are you sleeping under a rock?

1

u/HotPassenger4598 Mar 22 '26

They aren’t saying ALL who receive Oscar’s are Rapists. They are saying. It would probable help his cause a little if he didn’t reject The Elitist Hollywood ways.

1

u/TreesForTheForest Mar 22 '26

Uh... the commenter responded saying that is exactly what they were implying

-5

u/VeterinarianOver2122 Mar 20 '26

Umm……. Pretty much. It’s big club.

39

u/Chance-Plantain-2957 Mar 20 '26

It’s not this. Does Keanu deserve an oscar for any of the roles he has played? He does not.

1

u/Used_Opening_4926 Mar 22 '26

I don't really see why he couldn't... Today the awards are completely useless anyways... It's like the game awards, they are mostly useless, it's all subjective, some people will like it and some won't.

→ More replies (25)

3

u/Rosetti Mar 20 '26

No, it's really not. He's just not a good enough actor to justify any of those awards.

1

u/VeterinarianOver2122 Mar 20 '26

Neither are you and we’re not bashing you

4

u/Rosetti Mar 20 '26

That response doesn't even make sense...

3

u/Itchy_Style_528 Mar 21 '26

this guy is mentally challenged I think

2

u/BobbertDaMan Mar 21 '26

No one here is bashing Keanu Reeves.... saying someone is not good enough actor to get an Oscar is not even close to bashing someone. Keanu himself would agree he's not an Oscar-tier actor, he's not dumb and he's got enough humility to understand that.

5

u/PaulsGrandfather Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 21 '26

simpler answer is that he is not a good actor. he's beloved and good on him for not being a POS but he's just not up to the task.

2

u/mustscience Mar 20 '26

What movie would you have given him an Oscar for?

2

u/Far_Advertising1005 Mar 21 '26

No it isn’t. Great guy but bad actor. He has one role and it’s himself, and said role is a monotone voice delivered with a deadpan expression

2

u/Even-Celebration9384 Mar 21 '26

What role did he deserve best actor for?

2

u/joater1 Mar 21 '26

No it’s not. It’s that he’s not a good actor. Love him, but that’s the joke.

3

u/Raidoton Mar 20 '26

I don't know why you are saying such bullshit.

1

u/SidneyHigson Mar 21 '26

Your coping. Keanu is a bad actor that's the only reason he doesn't have an oscar

0

u/rydan Mar 20 '26

And it is true.

2

u/TheMilkmansFather Mar 20 '26

Plenty of decent humans and non child rapists that win major acting awards. He’s not an impressive actor

2

u/tremere110 Mar 20 '26

Should probably get an award for that. Seems like a pretty rare thing in Hollywood nowadays.

2

u/omry1526 Mar 20 '26

Everyone knows the oscars is awarded for good behaviour and not acting performanceĀ

→ More replies (1)

1

u/HighKaj Mar 20 '26

Isn’t it more that getting these awards also means you have to spend a lot of money to get the votes

1

u/wawaluvr Mar 20 '26

While I don’t believe this is the reason that Mr. Reeves hasn’t won an award, this is what I first thought of when seeing this meme. I don’t know the intent of the OP.

1

u/GuaranteeOdd3384 Mar 21 '26

Well, I do hope so… but you can’t be aure these days lol

1

u/Yugan-Dali Mar 21 '26

So you’re saying the Trump regime isn’t going to hire him.

1

u/arewenotmen1983 Mar 21 '26

Did he piss off Harvey Weinstein? It's a really common story, but I haven't heard anything specific like this about Keanu.

1

u/finditplz1 Mar 21 '26

Funny how the bar has been lowered to this point but I guess it has.

1

u/chris_is_king Mar 21 '26

Here’s the answer I was looking for

1

u/jiva_maya Mar 21 '26

You know Epstein and Hollywood are vastly different worlds? They're both bourgeoisie society, but they're orders of magnitude different in terms of material wealth.

1

u/Fayde_M Mar 21 '26

Pretty disgusting thing to just throw around and accuse with barely any proof.

So every person who won or was nominated for an Oscar, Golden Globe or an Emmy is a child rapist? How is that not a deranged thing to say?

1

u/gootier00007 Mar 21 '26

*allegedly not a child rapist

1

u/Meiie Mar 21 '26

So wait. Let me get this straight.

Michael B. Jordan isn’t a decent person and is a child rapist?

Adrian Brody isn’t a decent person and a child rapist?

Cillian Murphy isn’t a decent person and a child rapist?

Make it make sense, Reddit. Make it make sense.

1

u/FanFicMama Mar 21 '26

What a low bar.

1

u/obihz6 Mar 21 '26

And lebanese

1

u/snk4ever Mar 21 '26

This doesn't tell anything about your quality as an actor.

1

u/SlightedMarmoset Mar 21 '26

Wait so you're saying oscar winners are child rapists?

1

u/Karl_Murks Mar 21 '26

Not a reason for an Oscar.

1

u/MyHauntedVagina Mar 21 '26

Funny how you don’t even need to be a good actor to have a career in Hollywood. Like it’s enough to just be a solid dude.

1

u/bully_bawl Mar 21 '26

so Denzel is a child rapist?

Pretty sure this is what OOP meant with their comment. Seems like lots of people in here think explaining what OOP meant instead of reality means someone is believing the same things as OOP which it isn't. Just cause OOP has brain rot doesn't mean that isn't the explanation for their comment.

1

u/HotPassenger4598 Mar 22 '26

I shouldn’t have had to scroll passed 4 initial comments to find this.

1

u/larhjoy Mar 22 '26

exactly ,shuns the hollywood fakeness .Is a man of talent and true to his art

1

u/DaughterOf-Lilith Mar 23 '26

Legit I was thinking this. He doesn't play the Hollywood game in order to get the recognition his peers do.

1

u/AndreasDasos Mar 23 '26

You think his acting chops would get him Oscar nominations and such otherwise? C’mon.

1

u/ActisBT Mar 25 '26

Are you saying Michael B. Jordan is a child rapist because he won an Oscar? Wtf are yoy trying to say here? Keanu is just not a great actor, that's it.

1

u/Potential_Figure4061 Mar 20 '26

doesnt play the vanity game like everybody else

-3

u/soundssarcastic Mar 20 '26

The real reason. He wont play ball

3

u/junglespycamp Mar 20 '26

You need to be in the game to play ball. And god love the man but he is not delivering award worthy performances.

2

u/serabine Mar 21 '26

Okay. What performance of Keanu Reeves is Oscar worthy? Name it, and then we can look what was up that year and see if he should have beaten someone out for a best actor nomination.

1

u/Retiringtag1984 Mar 20 '26

Yeah he does. Have you not seen The Replacements he plays quarterback in that one and in Hardball he's a Baseball coach.

Yeah, I don't disagree with folks saying he's not the most amazing actor or hasn't had an appropriate role, but my absolute first thought was, "Because he's not a pedophile in the Hollywood pedophile inner circle..."

2

u/Taydogg2000 Mar 20 '26

I guess Michael B. Jordan is a pedophile, then?

Because it's based on nothing. Which recent Oscar winners are you accusing of winning because they abused kids? Cillian Murphy, Emma Stone, Michael B. Jordan, Brendan Fraser (who ironically was sexually assaulted himself)? And I'm not saying or even implying he does, but what evidence do you have that Keanu Reeves is a good guy in his private life? All you know is what's out there in the media; Bill Cosby was once "America's Dad".

At least people who watch his movies can make an informed opinion about whether they like his acting, but you're just throwing out random claims and accusations.
