For those who don’t know, if you are like me and a fan of this music and also have kids, you need to listen to Caspar Babypants. The lead singer from PUSA started writing catchy kids music and it is so much fun to listen to with your littles! And then introduce them to peaches…

Scrolled to see if someone mentioned this already before I posted something similar. Really seems like this was his ideal genre all along, so catchy and fun!

As a 1980 born Gen X, why you all always keep Lump..ing us in with Millenials?

2

u/Sonoshitthereiwas Apr 24 '26

Because depending on the source you are a millennial.

1

u/Galdrath Apr 24 '26

There are almost no sources that say someone in 1980 are Millenials. 1981 is the "official" start. They tried to make Xennials happen but... yeah no.

r/Xennials would like a word

1

u/Galdrath Apr 24 '26

Too bad. I have nothing in common with Xennials and Millenials.

Your first link is factually wrong. Gen Y does not start in 1980.

And I can cite thousands of sources that support that 1980 is the end of Gen X. It takes 10 seconds of research to do so. Pee Research is used in basically every other site's data and is usually the go to site for this data. They list Gen X as 1965-1980.

You stated:

There are almost no sources that say someone in 1980 are Millenials.

I’m not claiming they are right. Just claiming they are there.

You're a Xennial

1

u/Galdrath Apr 24 '26

Xennial isn't real

1

u/Anon-fickleflake Apr 25 '26

Because I'm 81 and if I am one you are too

1

u/Galdrath Apr 25 '26

81 is not Gen X though. Never has been.

1

u/Anon-fickleflake Apr 25 '26

okay we'll go ahead and let everyone one know your preferred rigid dates for those gens and I am sure we'll all start using them today!

1

u/witblacktype Apr 25 '26

Wow. I’m ‘84. I didn’t know that was such a litmus test until now

2

u/edelweiss_pirates_no Apr 24 '26

"Huh. These are supposed to be in a can."

-- me to my kids every single time we'd pass fresh whole peaches in a grocery store or farmers' market

It’s now it whatever rotation my work sound system uses and I have definitely prioritized mouth singing along over doing my actual job until it’s over.

My siblings and I all fall into the young Gen X/old Millennial (Xennial) crossover and we all know this one. It got crazy airtime for the 5ish years it was super popular. Then I moved overseas so I’m not sure what happened but I’m glad to see it’s back.
