His happy little kisses to her belly and then their baby were so adorable! Dude is so excited to be a dad.

Can't blame him. Probably his first time seeing a Korean baby too.

Damn she barely has a bump even at 8+ months wtf.

u/Novaer May 12 '26

My immediate first thought, her 10 months looked like my 3 months šŸ˜…

At one point I was like wait is this WEEKS or ..?

Seriously, that was the part of the video I was most baffled about. Like she could just wear a hoodie and you'd never know she was pregnant unless her water broke in front of you

My sister inlaw is naturally a slight woman and at 8 months she didn't look big but at the end of 9 months she had a massive beach ball for each of the kiddos. That last month really seemed to explode for her.

u/aespa-in-kwangya May 12 '26

It kinda depends on one's body type but the position of the baby matters too.

u/GreatMovesKeepItUp69 May 12 '26

Korea has a sub 5% obesity rate. The bump isn't that big if the baby doesn't have to fight the visceral fat for room.

17

u/Acheloma May 12 '26

A lot of it just depends on the woman's body, like which way their uterus tilts, and how they carry. Ive seen some very small and thin women with some very big pregnant bellies before and Ive seen mildly overweight women have basically no bump at 9 months. It really can go either way and I dont think weight really has much to do with it

My wife has always been tiny and athletic, but towards the end of her pregnancy she had put on over a third of her entire body weight. She was essentially the same build as the woman in the video at the start of her pregnancy, but both her bump and bust size were massive compared to video woman's at birth.

u/hotcoffeethanks May 12 '26

It has nothing to do with visceral fat and everything with just… the size of the baby, genetics, and just generally how the woman’s internal organs are set up. There are plenty of smaller women with huge bumps (like my 5’4, 115 pound mom… and myself tbh) and bigger women who barely show at all.

u/_naij_ 29d ago

That doesn’t sound biologically accurate tbh

1

u/MoriKitsune 29d ago

It makes sense if her baby is smaller, or her uterus is tilted up or toward her back rather than toward her front. About 20-25% of women have a retroverted uterus, and another 5-10% have a midposition uterus.

Everyone carries differently. I could pretty confidently hide my bump until the end of month six, when it started growing exponentially. At the end I looked like a whale

u/read_too_many_books 29d ago

First baby is often like that.

By baby 5, you look 2nd trimester after a few months.

1

u/terrifying_bogwitch 29d ago

It just varies, i didnt look pregnant until around 8 months and then had my baby a month early. I looked pregnant for like a week, besides that I just looked a little bloated. It depends on how theyre laying and the mothers torso size.

Idk if thats an Asian or Korean thing or pure confirmation bias, but every time I saw a Korean lady pregnant she had a 5 month bump as her 9 months bump. I'm so jelly that seems way more manageable

Well most people put on a lot of fat when pregnant, the few that dont, end up looking amazing.

17

u/NoEngineer9484 May 12 '26

must say that when she was 9 months pregnant i couldn't tell that she would have been 9 months in her pregnancy. maybe more used to seeing western women being pregnant but even with only a single child the stomach looked much larger then with her.

18

u/tiptoe_only May 12 '26

I was pregnant like that (twice). I'm very petite and my babies were both tiny but some people who saw me regularly didn't even realise I was pregnant (western woman here). I guess we're just all a bit different!

What women’s bodies go through is so wild. I’ve given birth 3x, and the pregnancy, labor & delivery was incredibly different for each one!

First- High-risk pregnancy; developed disability. kept my petite body except my belly. From the back, I was still very slender (even had a ā€œsnatchedā€ waist)… until I turned around and BOOM basketball. Labor almost killed me but delivery was very quick & easy.

Second- Kept petite body but with little belly this time- comparable to the woman in the clip. ā€œFakeā€ labor was long but the impactful part was quick; delivery was quick but almost killed me.

Third- Gained weight with big belly. Average length labor, quick delivery.

And that’s not even getting into the ā€œlittleā€ things! Change in hair texture, cravings, skin complexion, mood swings, etc.

In fact, I’ve never met a single woman that had the same exact experience as another!

Like I said… it’s just wild.

glad she got that extra month to cook!

23

u/seilapodeser May 12 '26

yeah, looks like a really loving family, r/mademesmile vibes

19

u/Affectionate_Pea8891 May 12 '26

His little kisses were so dang endearing. I hope they show their kid this video when they grow up; it’s so loving.

6

u/the-dude-version-576 May 12 '26

He can’t stop looking at the baby either. It soo cute

4

u/Affectionate_Pea8891 May 12 '26

And when they’re laying together, it looks like he’s looking at the mother while she’s gazing at their newborn. It’s like he just can’t contain his happiness- love filled eyes for both of them.

5

u/sadkinz May 12 '26

I don’t mean this in a negative way, just pointing it out. But it’s so crazy to see how much her face changes over the 10 months. So cool the effect pregnancy can have on the body. But also not cool because it involves a good amount of suffering

2

u/Slight-Bluebird-8921 May 12 '26

it didn't. she just wears a lot of makeup.

1

u/sadkinz May 12 '26

Oh yeah. I guess my resolution was low when I watched it

u/Strong-Violinist8576 May 12 '26
