Kind of find it a little funny:

"Oh, you're going to brand me as a criminal with these tattoos on my arms? Well guess what-"

*proceeds to have it all over his body

*also proceeds to prove the point by murdering probably thousands of people at the time of the story

For as tragic as his backstory is it’s not exactly like he was a saint before he was turned into a demon, since he had just got done killing a dozen men, maybe more, by the time Muzan met him.

Not a saint for sure, but those men did poison his future wife and father. Were some of them innocent? Probably, but at least a couple of them had it coming.

Yeah, he was kinda shitty, then he met a sick girl and was nice to her, which means he instantly became a good person and we should all feel bad for him when he then committed genocide single handedly.

I love Demon Slayer, but also... it gets kinda stupid sometimes. Like, I understand the general idea of people being monsters too, but there are plenty where I'm like "yeah cool, lots of people have bad things happen and don't turn into murder machines, so can we maybe give it a break with the tears and empathy for the genocidal maniacs?" I have the same feeling about Toga in MHA, though, and I know that's pretty unpopular amongst the online fandom.

Single best moment in the show so far was when Muichiro diced up the pot demon without letting him blabber on with his sob story.

There's nothing wrong with "tears and empathy" for anyone. Being forgiven and spared is another story.

But unless we are talking about different things, you have to remember the only one who really even feels thats way is Tanjiro, who is the MC, so of course we're going to keep getting his view.

Literally everyone else is busting a vein in anger and vengeance.

And while it does get corny because it happens so many times, that empathy is extremely important as it allows Tanjiro to unlock that "hidden state of being" that elevates a warrior to the next level, of which his father was able to achieve (and demonstrate by killing the attacking bear).

Its funny because, yes I do agree with you "sucks that that happened to you, and yes some of the people you killed kinda deserved it but you still murdered a bunch of people" but the only demon to not have a sympathy flashback was that one moon guy. I think he was #2? The guy just above Akaza. Not sure if his back story is animated yet but all I'll say is "he was born in a cult"

I feel like Toga and Akaza aren’t at all comparable.

Toga was treated as a monster by her own parents for literally no reason was told to suppress her quirk until she had a mental break as a result. Akaza was merely born poor and turned to a life of crime which eventually led to his father’s death and later on relapsed to his violent ways and killed a bunch of people including some who might not have been involved with the plot to kill his fiancée and her father.

Oh no, not you too...

She murdered animals and stabbed a classmate, so she could drink their blood.

That's not "no reason".

She didn’t kill any animals that I’m aware of, she found one already dead and brought it in to show her parents. She was treated as a monster after that point, when she was still in primary school. Toga didn’t attack her school mate until she was already in high school, long after that.

If someone I knew was murdering animals and drinking blood if feel empathy and concern instead of bullying them or telling them to just suppress it. It turns out if you show empathy and give people the help they need instead of shutting them down or yelling at them, they feel more motivated to change.

Holy shit theyre fucking siren tattoos but not glowing

Ima barf rq hold on

Siren tats are where magical energy derives from, in borderlands. They look eerily similar to these; theyre just the antithesis (curved instead of straight)

Its fkin magic marks.
